Fun but interrupted by staff

I enjoyed the experience very much!! My friend and i had a lot of fun trying to solve the mystery, even though we relied on hints most of the time.😄🤍 However, i did not appreciate one of the staff members interrupting our visit. This incident occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. in Gallery 2, at the artwork Journey of A Yellow Man No. 11: Multi-Culturalism. At first, she asked my friend and me to stand farther away from an artwork that was already sealed off, even though there was no marked line indicating where visitors should stand. I understand that it is the staff's responsibility to ensure visitors maintain an appropriate distance from the artworks, and i respect that. However, i felt that the repeated reminders directed at my friend and me disrupted our experience. Later, at the same artwork, my friend and i were trying to solve the mystery by reading the description. The staff member returned and asked us to move aside so that other visitors could read it. I politely told her that i had not finished reading yet, and she eventually left us alone. What made this interaction frustrating was that there was no crowd waiting to read the description. From what i observed, there was only one other visitor waiting nearby. I would have been happy to move aside once i had finished reading, but being asked to do so before I had completed reading felt unnecessary and made me feel rushed while trying to engage with the exhibit. I loved the overall experience, but this encounter did affect my visit negatively. I hope future visitors can be given enough time and space to engage with the exhibits without feeling rushed. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback😊☺️

Great Family Fun

We had a great time at the National Gallery with this game. Such a good idea! First off, a huge thank you to EDWIN who was unbelievably helpful with my booking. I inadvertently booked for the wrong date so sent an email at 10:30 at night, fully expecting to have to follow up with a call the next day and to be pushed from one person to another and to have to beg and persist until the date is changed, or to be told that I need to pay extra. But EDWIN replied my email within 10 minutes saying that he has amended the date for me. He even gave me his personal phone number to contact him if I had any issues on the day. 5 stars for EDWIN alone! The game itself was great fun. Just the right length of time (about 1.5 hours) and just the right level of difficulty. We had had 2 teens - 13 and 18 years and they both enjoyed it. The first few clues were easier (but not too easy to be boring) and the last few trickier. It included a bit of education- so we learnt a bit about local art and artists along the way but it was just a nice amount, not overdone. There was even a prize if you solved it. Also, the pictures were not too graphic to scare younger kids. Would totally recommend for families or dates. Only tip would be that if you make separate bookings to pay separately, but play as one team, you won’t get one prize each. You need to use the link on each booking to claim the prize.

Operator response

Thank you so much for your kind review and for the special mention of Edwin! We work hard to make sure our players have a great experience both before and during the game, so it's wonderful to hear that reflected in your visit. We're delighted that you and your family enjoyed the adventure and discovered a little more about the National Gallery along the way. We hope to welcome you back for another HIDDEN experience soon!

Love it!

Very fun and easy to navigate. The clues are all in the artworks. The admission fee is reasonable and can be offset by sg culture pass credits. 2 hours is more than enough to complete the whole game. Took some time for us to navigate in the beginning but towards the end, we figured out quite fast. Went on Labour Day but the crowds weren't big. Smaller team size will be more fun.

Operator response

Thank you for the lovely review ✨ So happy you enjoyed discovering clues through the artworks and exploring the gallery in a different way 😊
