Itinerary
Our captain will give you a brief history of the Charlottetown Harbour - the "Cradle of Confederation" when Canada first became a country, the Mi'kmaq who first settled the province, as well as a bit about the Charlottetown Harbour itself.
The Isola Solaretto will pass silently by beautiful Victoria Park, where you can see the cannons & armaments of this historic fort.
You will see the entrance to Charlottetown Harbour and famous Port-la-Joye (Fort Amherst) at Rocky Point.
Here you will see the "Birthplace of Canada" where the colonies Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia & New Brunswick met for the first time in 1864 to determine that Canada would become a country.
Your captain will take you by several multi-million dollar houses, including a $15M home to show you some "rock armouring" for shoreline protection gone wrong. PEI is losing about 1 ft of shoreline every year and there is a right way & a wrong way to protect it.
View Peake's Wharf in front of St. Dunstan's Basilica - home of the famous Cow's Ice Cream ranked the #1 ice cream in the world!
Learn about the tallest structure in Charlottetown - The St. Dunstan's Basilica, which is one of 27 designated Basilica's in Canada and a National Historic Site.
See a piece of PEI history with the Beaconsfield Historic House - one of seven Museum and Heritage PEI sites built in 1877 for wealthy shipbuilder and merchant James Peake. Beaconsfield stands as an enduring symbol of Victorian elegance.

Justin and Chad were great! Too many good laughs. They provided great information on both the history of Charlottetown harbour and the Solar Boat history! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone travelling to the Charlottetown area.
Excellent goats. Went out of their way to make the tour available when there wasn’t one scheduled
Steve was great for letting us know immediately about the changes of schedules. He’s friendly and hospitable! The tour guide Justyn was knowledgeable about PEI’s history. We also enjoyed his live music and his funny jests! Captain was great on the wheels! The food and drinks were great as well! We will absolutely recommend it to our families and friends!
Had an amazing time on the solar boat! Our original tour date was cancelled due to rain, but the company reached out right away and rebooked us for the next evening. The tour was informative and the food was amazing! This is one of those must-do tours when in PEI!
I had an enjoyable time on this Harbour boat tour. Interesting info about how the boat operates on solar.
Justin and Captain Al are the dudes! Such a fun experience, way exceeded expectations
Thank you Sarah! So glad you enjoyed your eco-tour on the beautiful Charlottetown Harbour with Justyn & Captain Al. We are lucky to have them & we appreciate your business!
Awesome crew fantastic time lots of fun information had a blast highly recommend
Justin did a great job. A very fun tour today
Thank you Richard! Justyn is a gem and Captain Al keeps our boat afloat - we are so fortunate to have them both. So glad you had a fun "eco" time on the water with Ride Solar & thank you for your patronage. :)
Excellent experience. Learnt a lot about PEI and Charlottetown. Nice historic boat. Steve, Craig and Justin made it a pleasure. Highly recommend.
Thanks so much Peter! It was a real pleasure to meet you both & I hope you have a great time abroad before heading back to Oz :)
We enjoyed it, but they had us show up a half hour before they were ready to board which was annoying.
Thank you Robert! We ask people to show up 30 min prior to departure time as we do like to board early to get food/drinks started, go over the safety briefing, etc. This is necessary as we do not want to eat into your actual time on the water with all the "housekeeping items". :) The main thing is that you enjoyed your cruise with us & we thank you for choosing to come!
