Good information, could do without loud sound effects. While driving through the mountains, amidst curving roads and semis, the sudden opening of a new site came with a semi horn sound effect! Scared us to the point I turned off the tour!
You are told it works without using data. It does tell you where you are on the map without data but it doesn't play the recorded info, you have to read it out. Not happy with the purchase
Thank you for your feedback. We're very sorry to hear you had trouble with your tour. Our tours are designed to work without using mobile data once the content has been fully downloaded beforehand as we suggest.
Learnt a lot of information about the local area. Would've liked to have heard music in between points of interest
Was not able to connect vehicle radio system to hear the tour (with or without cable). Spotify music would open and play music over the tour. Tripvia representative stated that this is a common problem for some vehicle radios. I believe this is an application problem. Was told that I could connect to radio if I had a "osz" cable to connect to radi (believe this is a head phone cable). We had to listen to tour using iPhone speakers. We had to replay many times due to not being able to hear what was said The tour was not in sync with our location. A couple of examples; - We were heading South West and the tour stated that if we looked to the North East we would see.... (bad advice to instruct some one to look directly behind them when driving on hi-way) - driving well past an interchange, tour stated that if we were to take the next exit we could go to a water fall Tripvia offered to refund our money. I would have preferred to be advised that if you have Spotify it will overide the tour I really don't like buying something that they know will have problems with radios.
Hi there, sorry you had a poor experience. I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean with Spotify overriding the audio. Our customer service rep may have been confused. We have never heard of this before. Could you not just turn Spotify off? You can connect your device using Bluetooth or an Aux cable. The app is setup to override any audio playing when it enters a geo-fence. Regarding the directions.. because the tour can be taken both ways, there are times it may seem odd. You probably missed the first part in your examples. The audio would have said, "If you're heading towards Kamloops, take a look to the north east..". This only happens a few times and we agree it's not ideal, but it's better than only offering the tour in one direction or having separate points of interest. We appreciate your feedback and will keep it in mind when making revisions.
What a great trip! Took us longer than 4 hours as we stopped so many times to check out the sites and wonderful viewing spots. We loved hearing the tour guides and quiz questions, they were a bit corny but definitely entertaining and fun….even for my 10 year old son. We would recommend Tripvia for sure!
