Great tour and super relaxed guide. Were in low season so private tour. They really ensure that English and Spanish speakers go in boat separately. The boat goes through the narrow canals where the motorboats cannot reach. Recommended!
The guides are super funny and nice. We had a great time, learned alot and booked the walkingtour directly after.
Nice, laid back and beautiful experience. That it was by canoe, without an engine, was very relaxed. We could go into nature, in between nature. Several animals seen: birds, caiman and 2 species of monkeys. With nice and cozy explanations from the tour leader!

We took the night walk, the canoe tour, and the day walk. All three were unforgettable and diverse experiences and the staff was super competent and friendly. Highly recommended!!
The canoe tour was booked by our tour operator. We had to be at the office at 5u30 in the morning 😴. We got welcomed with some coffee. We also got a dry bag and binoculars. Our guide Kevin got us all seated and off we went. He was already wide awake and warned us about his talking. The guys in the boat had to work a little bit with the peddeling. But the big advantage of the canoe is that we could access all the small canals. Which was perfect. I would always opt for this in stead of a bigger boat. We got to see monkeys, leguanas, different birds, a kaaiman from up close.... The tour is defenitly worth getting out of bed early. And Kevin was the perfect guide. Lots of humor. But also lots of interesting explenations about the park and the fauna and flora.
We saw alligators, iguanas and lots of beautiful birds. With the narrow canoe we got to the smallest creeks. Don't do this trip in a motorboat!
First of all, you have to know that this is not a zoo, but a national park. Nevertheless, we have seen a lot of birds, reptiles and monkeys. The guides Adrian and Kevin are super likeable people. They made this tour (canoe / nightwalk) and the experience on Tortuguero a special experience for us. We are very happy to have chosen Sambola Tours. We can highly recommend you.
