We tried for hour and half to make this class. Google Maps kept us going in circles and heat. Messaged multiple times and called. No response. Upon arriving at location we were considered “no show” and rude response from host. All we wanted was help with communicating directions.
Maurizio was so lovely and very accommodating. He had everything set up ready to go when we got there with local cheeses and wine. He was very thorough with his advice and helped us to make two different pastas and a beautiful tiramisu. There was heaps of food and plenty of wine to enjoy. It cost 250 euro for the two of us but was well worth the price! The whole experience lasted nearly four hours and was paced very well.
The cooking class we booked was for 2 pastas and tiramisu. The reason why we booked it was to make tiramisu. We did not make tiramisu as it was stated in the cooking class description we booked. Traditional to Sicily is cannoli. We should have been told we were not making tiramisu, but making cannoli instead. We did make 2 shapes of pasta, but only ate one. The other pasta was not cooked or served to us. This was also disappointing because we thought we were making AND eating 2 pasta dishes. Everyone was very nice that ran the cooking class, but what was described and booked on Viator, wasn’t what we got in our cooking class.
We weren't sure what to expect when going into a private home to take a cooking class. But Maurizio was a wonderful host and greeted us warmly with charcuterie and prosecco! After we snacked, we got right to work learning the art of homemade pasta, sauces and tiramisu. Maurizio was knowledgeable and funny, making our class a memorable experience! We were surprised at our cooking skills, and had a delicious lunch!! I would definitely recommend this experience!
Our experience with Cesarine was extremely disappointing and highlights serious flaws in both their booking process and customer service. We booked a cooking class believing it would take place in Naples, only to discover — less than 24 hours in advance — that the reservation was actually in Catania, on a completely different island. This is not a minor misunderstanding; it is a fundamental booking failure. A platform built entirely around location-based experiences should make it virtually impossible to confuse two cities that are this far apart. Instead of acknowledging this issue, Cesarine hid behind automated reminders and generic policies. Repeating that emails contained the correct address does not excuse a booking flow that clearly failed to communicate one of the most critical elements of the experience. What is most concerning is the complete lack of accountability and flexibility. Despite the obvious and significant mismatch, Cesarine refused any form of solution — no refund, no partial compensation, no credit, and no possibility to rebook. The response was rigid, transactional, and entirely indifferent to the situation. Politeness in wording does not compensate for a total absence of customer care. This felt less like dealing with a hospitality platform and more like dealing with a system designed to deflect responsibility at all costs. In summary: • A booking process that fails at the most basic level: clearly communicating location • Zero willingness to resolve an очевидно unreasonable situation • Customer service that prioritizes policy over fairness and common sense We paid for an experience we never had, due to a preventable issue, and were left with no support or solution. Based on this experience, we would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious when booking through this platform.
Dear Robin, As you can see from the product you selected, the cooking class you booked was indeed in Catania, in Sicily, in a different Italian region than Naples. Bookings can be amended or canceled free of charge and with a full refund provided that we are notified at least 24h prior to the event scheduled time. Unfortunately this was not the case. We are very sorry about the misunderstanding and we wish you beautiful days ahead in Italy. Our very best wishes
Maurizio was amazing. This class was beyond what we expected and would definitely recommend to anyone. Our host was great with our kids and truly loved to show us how to cook. Great experience and would highly recommend.
This cooking class was great. Our hosts Graziella and Andrea were very welcoming and they made the experience so much fun. This is definitely a must-do in Catania. P.S. if you happen to get the same amazing hosts as we did, make sure you appreciate the absolutely gorgeous view they have!
Angela was the most gracious and thoughtful host. She was well prepared to teach us tips on how to make every item that we would be eating. She let us do the work and told funny stories along the way. Treated us just like family and I walked out feeling like I had a new friend. And the food wasfantastic! The pasta dishes were unique not something you would normally eat and the tiramisu was out of this world. I would highly recommend this event for three hours of fun, family, and dining.
This was excellent, my daughter loved learning to make pasta and tiramisu. Marilu was friendly and a great cook. We had a fab meal at the end to finish a lovely experience.
Had a great class with Laura! She was very kind and had a beautiful view. Very close to the cruise port. We made pasta and tiramisu
