The Melaka Straits Cultural Museum offers an insightful journey into the rich cultural exchanges that shaped the Straits of Melaka, where traders, explorers, and settlers from across Asia and beyond met for centuries. The museum highlights the region’s vibrant maritime history and the blending of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Arab, and European influences that contributed to Melaka’s unique heritage. A key attraction is the Cheng Ho Voyage Map, which illustrates the legendary admiral’s extensive maritime expeditions during the Ming Dynasty, symbolizing Melaka’s vital role as a global trading hub and a crossroads of civilizations.
Built in 1781, is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Malaysia and is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, reflecting Melaka’s long-standing multicultural heritage.
One of Melaka’s oldest mosques, built in 1748, is renowned for its unique blend of Sumatran, Chinese, Hindu, and Malay architectural styles.
Built in 1646, is the oldest functioning Chinese temple in Malaysia, renowned for its exquisite architecture and dedication to the Three Doctrinal Systems of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism.
Here we will try the popular eatery known for serving nostalgic, home-style Malaysian dishes inspired by traditional recipes passed down through generations. At this stop, we’ll enjoy a taste of local favorites—traditional toast and a refreshing dessert to complete the experience.
Heeren Street, also known as Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, is one of Melaka’s most elegant heritage streets, lined with beautifully preserved Peranakan townhouses. As part of the walking tour, we’ll make a cultural stop here to learn about the Baba Nyonya heritage—exploring the unique blend of Chinese and Malay traditions that shaped Peranakan culture, from their architecture and lifestyle to their rich customs and craftsmanship.
No trip to Melaka is complete without tasting its most iconic dish—Hainanese chicken rice balls. Unlike the usual chicken rice, here the fragrant rice is hand-rolled into bite-sized balls and served with tender poached chicken, chili sauce, and soy dressing. This local specialty is a must-try experience that truly represents Melaka’s unique food culture.
At this stop, we’ll indulge in a sweet treat beloved by locals—traditional cendol topped with rich gula Melaka syrup. To complement it, we’ll also sample a variety of colorful Nyonya kuih, bite-sized Peranakan delicacies made with coconut milk, pandan, and glutinous rice, offering a true taste of Melaka’s heritage desserts. End on a sweet note.

Mimi was our food and culture tour guide and she was excellent! Mimi was very engaging and knowledgeable, she kept the kids' attention throughout the whole tour. We had a great time exploring Melaka old town and eating our way through all the local delicacies. She brought us to hidden alleyways and beautiful traditional peranakan houses which we would not have known if we had not join the tour. Love the craft activity that we could bring home as souvenir. Highly recommend!
