Small-Group Honey & Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting Tour in Crete

Very good value for the money. Well worth visiting. The information about the process of growing the olives to making the oil was well presented. Also the same for the honey.

A wonderful experience! We learned so much about honeybees and olive trees. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. She did a great job explaining and answering our questions about honey and olive oil. After the tour, we got to sit under the shade of olive trees and taste 8 varieties of honey along with pollen and local foods including yogurt, cheese, bread, and tomatoes. Our guide showed us which type of honey goes best with which food. Then we were free to taste test much honey as we wanted. They also gave us a bottle of raki to taste. For the price, this was money well spent for a lovely afternoon in an olive grove. They also have a shop if you want to purchase souvenirs. We would go again if we ever go back to Crete. Highly recommend!!!

This was an excellent experience. We were able to taste a variety of honeys and olive oil accompanied by various foods (bread, olives, cheese, tomatoes, and yogurt). The guide recommended various pairings of foods and honeys as well as gave information about the flavor profiles and seasons of the different honeys. Following the tasting we were given a tour which included an explanation of the honey-making process, a view of their olive groves and an explanation of their growing and harvesting process, and ended with a look at their olive oil processing factory. At the end of the tour we were given an opportunity to purchase various products that the family produces. All of the products were very reasonable priced (4 Euros for 250ml of honey). We were also given small gifts of olive oil and honey (7 ; one for each member of the tour). The tour was private with only the members of our party and the guide, Giana. Giana was excellent and very knowledgeable in both the honey and olive oil production processes. She was able to answer any and all questions we had. One member of our group is handicapped and needs a walker to get around. The guide was very accommodating and we were all able to enjoy the experience to the fullest. This experience is fun for all ages including children who would likely be able to stay entertained during the full tour. The experience lasted about 90 minutes in total, but seemed like it could vary depending on your involvement and amount you interact with the guide. The only comment I would have is that we were only given one type of olive oil to try, so if you’re looking for a variety of different oils that is not what you will get. However, the wide variety of honeys and excellent quality of the oil absolutely makes up for that discrepancy.

Such a lovely experience! Very inexpensive for such a high quality tasting/tour. We learned so much about the honey AND olive process. Owned by a family and passed down several generations. Beautiful location and atmosphere. The staff was very knowledgeable about the processes.

I highly recommend booking this tour! The tour was given by a family member of the farm owners who explained both the beekeeping aspect and the olive farming aspect of the operation, and then explained how olive oil is made from the harvested olives. It was nice to get a smaller farm perspective on olive oil production after hearing about it on a tour at a larger operation. After the tour we were given a huge variety of honeys to try, along with olive oil, bee pollen, and olives that they produce, and a large plate of pairing options (cheeses, breads, yogurt, tomatoes, etc). We got to try everything at our leisure while sitting in a shaded and peaceful olive grove. There is a small shop where you can buy their products and ask any other questions you have. Overall a very nice tour and experience.

Georgia explained the production of bee products and olive products to us very professionally. The table for the tasting, set among the olive trees, was lovingly arranged with all sorts of delicacies to complement the flavors of the honey and olive oil. The shop at the end of the tour, featuring its own products, invited leisurely browsing. I would recommend it to everyone!
