Small group Holyhead shore excursion in Caernarfon castle

Unlike other tours, we take you inside the castle and guide you round in a small group, so you get the time to ask questions and learn about this fascinating castle. We even pay your entrance fee. Learn about the history of the castle and why it has such a special role in Welsh history. Stand on the spot where Princes of Wales have been crowned and even see the room where the first Prince of Wales was born. You can walk the castle walls and up to the top of the Eagle tower. Followiing the guided tour you get 30 minutes free time to either spend in the castle or in Caernarfon's excellent shops.

Itinerary
Scenic drive across Anglesey and over the Britania Bridge with views of the Menai straits and the mountains of Snowdonia. Learn about the history and language of Wales as we travel. Whilst we aim to leave at 9.00, we understand that the transfer buses may be full and will wait until 9.20 should you be delayed in getting off the ship.
A guided tour of the castle. See the exhibitions and historic parts of the castle. Learn about the design of the castle and its ancient and recent history. See a video show on the building of the castle and an exhibition detailing the rulers of Wales over time. For those who like a challenge, we can walk the walls and to the top of the Eagle tower. For those unable to manage this there is a lift to a viewing area. With a maximum of 8 guests, you will get the personal touch! Entrance fee included in the price, saving you £12.50!
Time to either take in the rest of the castle or indulge in some retail therapy in Caernarfon town before we hed back to port in time for lunch.
Drive back to Holyhead, crossing over the 198 year old Menai Suspension Bridge. Spend the afternoon aboard ship or take in the town of Holyhead, only a few minutes walk from the drop off point. Alternatively, you could join our afternoon "Anglesey Highlights" tour

My family and I had a fabulous time on this tour! It was our favorite over 2 weeks of tours. Trevor is very knowledgeable, engaging, and friendly. He has a wonderful presentation style. His is also prompt, professional, and keeps you updated on logistics as the tour approaches. Forget the big bus groups and choose this! Highly recommend!

Trevor and his wife were very knowledgeable about the region and the castle. He extensively told stories of the king and his exploits. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend this excursion. They were also sensitive to my fear of heights and allowed my fearless husband to explore further. The steps in the castle were challenging!
Trevor was a delightful tour guide! We learned everything we needed to know along the way and highly enjoyed his presence. Great excursion. Our family came in on a cruise and first private excursion ever booked. So glad we did. Very knowledgeable and experienced great views. Only negative is a couple others attended held us up by not getting there on time but no fault of tour guide. Would definitely book if coming to Holyhead.
