Description
At its height, the Cu Chi Tunnels system stretched over 250km from Ho Chi Minh City to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens.

We pick up guests at several hotels; your hotel might be the first, so please be ready by 08:00a.m./01:00p.m. Amidst the vibrant bustle of Sài Gòn’s streets, we set off towards the historic Củ Chi tunnels, leaving behind the urban buzz for a journey through Việt Nam’s rich history and culture. We’ll be taking a brief pit stop at a local lacquerware factory to freshen up and use the restroom.
Upon arrival at the remarkable Củ Chi Tunnels, get ready to delve into a captivating experience that will transport you back in time. Spend approximately 1.5 to 2 hours exploring this historical site, where you’ll have the opportunity to engage in various activities and learn more about the Việt Nam War from a Vietnamese perspective. *Watch a brief propaganda video about the Việt Nam War to gain a deeper understanding of the Vietnamese perspective.
* We’ll explore various underground bunkers, including a kitchen, meeting room, and ammunition storage, and also visit weapon and booby trap exhibitions during your visit. * For the adventurous, choose to navigate the authentic VC tunnels, with options of 20m, 60m, or 100m distances, offering a glimpse into the challenging conditions faced by soldiers. * Take a moment to immerse yourself in history by visiting the shooting range, where you can opt to try firing AK47s and M16s. Please note that the cost of bullets is not included in the tour. *Indulge in a taste of local tea and tapioca, the sustenance that kept VC fighters going during the war. It’s a chance to appreciate the significance of these humble provisions and their role in the daily lives of those in conflict. * After immersing ourselves in the rich history of Củ Chi Tunnels, we leave the site behind and journey back to Hồ Chí Minh City.
At the end of the tour, we will drop you back to the pick-up point or somewhere in District 1 as per your request.

Ethan was a fantastic tour guide, very knowledgeable, very easy to follow. Great value for money. Would recommend to anyone who is interested in war history. Shot an Ak47 and explored the tunnels. Had a blast. Small group was great, more personal and really had time to go through and try everything out, very pleasant atmosphere.

We had a great time on our half-day morning tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels with our tourguide Vinh. We were picked up from our hotel at 8:00 AM and headed to the site. Along the way, Vinh provided an engaging overview of Vietnamese history, particularly the periods of French colonial rule and the Vietnam War, which gave us valuable context before visiting the tunnels. Before arriving, we stopped at a lacquer painting workshop where disabled artists create beautiful works using lacquer and eggshells. It was fascinating to learn about the craft, and the shop offered some lovely souvenirs as well. The Cu Chi Tunnels themselves were the highlight of the tour. Despite the hot and humid weather (pocket fans definitely came in handy!), the visit was incredibly interesting. We learned about the tunnel network through exhibits showing the overall layout, hidden entrances, ventilation systems, traps, kitchens, garment-making areas, and other aspects of daily life underground during the war. Throughout the tour, Vinh provided just the right amount of information, making the different sections of the tunnels easy to understand and appreciate. One of the most memorable parts was crawling through a section of the tunnels ourselves. The tourist route was about 100 meters long, widened for visitors, and included exits every 20 meters, making it manageable even for those who might feel a little claustrophobic. Before heading back to the city, we were served boiled cassava dipped in crushed peanuts (a staple food that people relied on during the war), which was a simple but meaningful way to end the experience :) Overall, this was an excellent tour that combined history, culture, and firsthand experiences. We left with a much deeper appreciation of the resilience & ingenuity of the people who lived and fought here. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ho Chi Minh City!!
