Smolenice Castle is a romantic‑style chateau in the Little Carpathians, near the town of Smolenice in western Slovakia, roughly an hour from Bratislava. Originally a 15th‑century royal castle guarding a mountain pass; later heavily rebuilt in the early 20th century into today’s neo‑Gothic/Romantic residence inspired by Kreuzenstein near Vienna.

Bratislava Castle is the main castle of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, standing on a hill directly above the Danube River in the middle of the city. With its massive white rectangular building and four corner towers, it is one of the most dominant and recognizable landmarks in the country.
