Built in 1885 by chocolate magnate William L. Wallace, the Tarrytown Music Hall has hosted vaudeville acts, silent films, and world-famous performers. This beautifully preserved theater is also known for its paranormal sightings—making it a perfect starting point for Sleepy Hollow’s haunted history.

5 min

This peaceful green space marks the exact spot where British Major John André was captured during the Revolutionary War, exposing Benedict Arnold’s treason. The Captors’ Monument commemorates the three local militiamen whose vigilance changed the course of American history. Today, the park is a scenic, contemplative stop—with strange activity at dawn.

5 min

The municipal building at 28 Beekman Avenue. Once a quiet administrative hub, this brick building has a darker reputation after hours. Locals tell of areas where footsteps echo late into the night, and chilling shadow figures appear.

Admission not included5 min

Once a thriving 18th-century milling and trading center, Philipsburg Manor was built on the labor of those whose names and stories still resonate here. Visitors report bizarre activity. Its tranquil exterior hides a history that refuses to rest.

5 min

This modest crossing is the legendary site where Ichabod Crane’s fate was sealed in Washington Irving’s tale. Though the original bridge is gone, locals claim a cloaked rider still charges through the mist on moonless nights. The rush of hooves have startled more than a few passersby.

5 min

Built in the late 1600s, the Old Dutch Church is one of the oldest in New York and the resting place of Revolutionary War soldiers, local villagers, and figures said to have inspired Washington Irving’s tale. The surrounding graves lean and crumble under centuries of weather.

5 min

Established in 1849, this sprawling cemetery is the final resting place of Washington Irving and countless local legends.

Can do walk or drive thru. A+ for an add in local activity

Since it was so crowded, we actually did this audio tour by car and it worked out perfectly. Great way to enhance and educate yourself on the area while driving through town. (In traffic)

Operator response

Thank you so much for this. We work really hard on these tours, and it honestly warms the heart when guests have a great experience. Check us out in other cities as well! Every single tour is painstakingly crafted by the founder, often taking weeks to complete. It's a labor of love.

Easy to use

This was exactly what I was looking for. Easy to use, didn't have to download anything. Nice walk through Sleepy Hollow.

Scam

Scam. Don’t book this. There is no tour. Went to the Tarrytown Music Hall and was informed by the staff that is no such tour. It puts the employees in an awkward position to have to inform people that there is no such tour.

Operator response

Hi, thanks for your feedback—we’re sorry for the confusion. This is a self-guided audio tour, not a live guided experience. There is no staff check-in at Tarrytown Music Hall or any other location. Guests access the tour directly on their smartphone and explore at their own pace, as described on your purchase voucher. We understand how this could be confusing if you were expecting a traditional in-person tour, and we’re actively working to make this clearer in the booking instructions. If you still have your booking, we’d be happy to help you access the tour—please contact us directly.

Enjoyed it

This was pretty good. I did like how I could listen to the content for a week, because I missed some of the details and was able to listen again while driving home.

I love dark history, and this did not dissapoint

Pretty bloody!!! I've taken other audio tours that pulled punches, but this one is actually pretty intense. Glad I didn't have to download yet another junk app.

Nice Fall Day Walk

Actual walk and tour info entertaining, after you figured out how to get it. Takes about 11/2 hrs to complete if you check out each stops and listen to tape. That said, my assumption that we’d get a pair of headphones from a human being at the location address given was NOT the case. There is no one at the address given and no one at the address knows anything. After scouring my confirmation, I noticed a help link … which takes you to a chat link where you fill in a lot of info and somehow get to another link that supplies the Tour, locations and audio. EarPods are recommended…. However, if your a small group , 2 , only buy 1 ticket and you can easily listen together on speaker.

Operator response

Thank you so much for this review. This helps us modify and improve the self-guided tour experience to make it better for everyone. We run a very small operation here, and creating these tours is a true labor of love. We feel that tours that cost a lot per tour ticket are out of reach for many, and we try to bridge that gap. Thanks again.

I will NEVER use you again. I received NO email with a link to start the tour, & after half an hour, we gave up.

Never received a confirmation email with the link to start the self guided walking tour. Had to call a customer service number. She sent me the link. After trying, trying to put in the excruciating amount of information that for some reason you were looking for, we were still unable to start the tour. Absolutely ridiculous and seems like a scam to me.

Operator response

Never again

The time that we were supposed to go to the music hall it's wasn't open to visitors. Another of the locations was also closed for an event. The information provided as a guide was minimal and didn't really provide guidance. Won't purchase one of these self guided tours again.

Operator response

Hello. Thank you for the feedback.

Headless Horseman!!!

Very fun and very long. I think it was two miles. Went into the headless horseman stuff, including the site of the old bridge and the graveyard where he is said to be buried. Honestly pretty creepy tour. I was tired at the end and took an Uber from the last stop, its more of a straight line than a loop.

Bloody Good Time

Very good. Wish it was in Spanish. Actually bloodier and gorier than I expected. I like that kind of stuff but it might be too bloody for young kids.
