We booked last-minute tickets to Tango Porteño and opted for the $40 "show only" option. Here are a few tips to help you decide what to book: The Show: The live band and dancers are insanely talented. The performance itself was highly impressive and we loved it. The Venue: The theater looks massive and grand from the outside, but it's actually not all that big inside. It is very much catered to tourists. Balcony Seating (Show Only): If you just buy the show ticket, you have to sit in the narrow balcony. The view is awkward (like looking down from the front row of a movie theater), the chairs are hard wooden dining chairs, and the glass/rail barriers are distracting. You will spend the whole night leaning forward to see over the edge. Floor Seating (Dinner/Snacks): You only get a floor seat if you buy a food package. We skipped this because we heard the food isn't great and you have to sit there for a long time waiting for the show to start. Getting a Seat: Balcony seats are first-come, first-served. We got there 15 minutes before showtime and had plenty to choose from. There are cheaper tango shows around the city, but if you don't mind the awkward balcony view and just want to see some top-tier dancing in this iconic (also very touristy venue) it's still worth the visit!
Better and better, young cast, breathtaking attractions! Dancers and singers, with live orchestra made all the difference! And they danced to Astor Piazolla! Restaurant service with very good wines and varied menu with fair prices! For the fourth or fifth time, a must in Buenos Aires!
We came just for the show, no dinner. Seating was good and too tight. The show turned out to be more of a vaudeville show. Pretty good dancing but many other acts. We didn’t spend much for the show so it was worth it.
The website should advise more about dress Code - besides that hubby and I had a great time ! No one helps you to your seat location .
Amazing lunchtime experience for those who can't stay up late for the evening show! The musicians and dancers were all top class. There was also a skilled group who gave a gaucho dance with boleadoras.
Magnificent representation. I have already seen it several times on my trips to Buenos Aires and it really is worth it.
The band was excellent as I've noticed in every tango show in Buenos Aires. The arrangements for music were interesting and nice stage decoration, costumes and choreographies. I was waiting for a woman singer as well. The staff was very helpful and a good idea to take the whole staff to the front in the end of the show - that made a great effect!
Fun show, conveniently located across the street from our hotel in BA so we could just walk instead of relying on transportation. We opted not to partake in the dinner, but ordered some drinks. I think it's ultimately easy to get great food in BA at a better price. Recommend showing ups a bit earlier as that seemed to ensure better seats for us compared to people who arrived later.
Mass tourism, few dance performances, but diverse folklore, music and singing, poor sound quality , just not
Great show, lots of tango styles represented and decently priced. The venue was also very nice, art deco style with a great vibe.
