This was a good tour since we avoided the long lines, I would recommend this tour only if the intention is to climb 463 steps to the roof, otherwise the whole beauty of the cathedral is its outside and there is really nothing much to see inside. The answer to: would you recommend this to your friend is: only if that friend is able to climb the 500 steps in a very narrow space.
This was an amazing tour! Our guide was fantastic, provided just enough information, and the walk up to steps of the duomo was breathtaking!!!!
We had the exact same experience as multiple folks have noted when giving 1 star for this tour. We were given two completely different meeting points (but didn't know that!) four minutes walk apart from each other. One "meeting point" was given by Viator (which included the ability to click and map to the "meeting point"). We were given a completely separate meeting point as additional information, but nothing said to disregard the "meeting point" given on the Viator app so we had no idea we were supposed to use one address and not the other. We mapped to the "meeting point" given on Viator, we were early, we had two kids with us, we could not find the tour. Nobody reached out to contact us or find us. When we messaged the tour company, they told us Viator had given the wrong address for the meeting point. We assumed getting a refund would be easy since we were there on time and this wasn't our fault. If anything, we should get more than just our money back since it ruined our plans for the day and we never got to see the Duomo. Instead, we were denied a refund multiple times by Viator. We even called and spent time explaining over the phone what happened. Each time, they said "well, one of the addresses was the correct address so you had the info." So disappointed in Viator. Be careful when booking this tour or anything through Viator. They care more about their bottom line than their customers.
This was a lovely tour! Lorenzo was an awesome guide and we learned a lot from him. We really enjoyed the Duomo climb and tour! Paying for this tour also helps you skip all the lines, which was wonderful on a such a warm day.
Do not skip this experience! The view from the top of the dome is breath taking. Fair warning, parts of the climb along the balcony can be tough if you have any vertigo or fear of heights. But the end view is absolutely worth it! Our guide, Laura, did a wonderful job sharing all about the history and teaching us about Florence. She ensured everyone in the group was comfortable and prepared for the climb before we began. Do not skip this experience!
We had a tour with Lorenzo and he he was the best. He kept our 16 and 11 tear old engaged. He explained everything without being boring. Climbing the Duomo was not that bad. I would totally recommend
My son and I loved this guided tour in Spanish. Our guide has been Lázaro, and all his explanations have been excellent. He skillfully weaves together the various historical facts to truly understand what you are seeing. Regards.
We were a party of 12 and the private tour was the way to go! Totally worth paying for the skip-the-line access--when we arrived, the line was long and the wait was estimated at four hours! Our guide, Sybilia, was fantastic--we had her all day.
Great experience. Church was only open to tours and closed to general public so we lucked out with considerably less crowds. Very knowledgeable guide and patient as it was 94-95°
Mercedes has been a wonderful guide.
