Slight disappointment

I did not expect to see so few things: the armory was very interesting, but for the rest: a lot of stairs and no furnished room.

Could have been better

Nice but it could have been better if they would have given me the Audio translator as contracted. The German in the woman receptionist just wanted to argue

Can't wait to return!

The Whitaker Inn couldn't have been a nicer experience. It's a beautiful inn on lovely grounds, north of the Purdue and downtown area. Our room (the Japan room...each is based on a country) was comfortable, clean, and attractive. Our (included) breakfast was chosen by us the night before with a checklist that had so many choices...and was absolutely delicious. Patrons have the option to have breakfast in their room or in the dining room. We also had reserved dinner (not included) for the night of our arrival (which needs to be selected in advance). They are many choices. We both chose salmon, loaded baked potatoes, and a salad...all delicious! There are games and puzzles, as well as a pool table. There are rocking chairs outside in front as well as comfortable chairs and couches in the living room area. The best part of the Inn is the friendliness and warm welcome from the staff. We can't wait to return!

Absolutely worth visiting

Beautiful really not to be missed, the ticket costs 18 euros free up to 18 years with friendly and helpful staff there is the possibility of audio guide. The rooms are really nice and just as the gardens we were really happy, the only flaw is the paid parking with reduced spaces on the street. However I recommend everyone to visit it if passing through Innsbruck.

NOT TO BE MISSED NEAR INNSBRUCK

Ambras Castle in Innsbruck not to be missed and, in my opinion the most interesting visit than Innsbruck offers. Full ticket 18€ and up to 19 years free with audio guide highly recommended to immerse yourself in the history and magnificent collection of Archduke Ferdinand II who donated Castle and land to his wife Philippine Welser in order to guarantee him for life the status, since the morganatic marriage was secret precisely because she did not have noble rank. The ticket office with very kind staff who offered explanations also in excellent Italian from also the opportunity to buy souvenirs for souvenirs. The spectacular gardens with royal peacocks that run undisturbed in a fairytale setting. 💕

Castle exhibits better than expected

Much diversity in Castle’s exhibits. English explanations/details abundant. Intriguing Room of Curiosities and armour/jousting explanations. Spanish Hall beautiful (guest violinist practicing with local classical music orchestra when I visited… wonderful). 12-15 minute ride from Markt-Platz on bus M (free using city tourist card I got from my hostel).

To amass...

Beautiful castle full of history and whose Renaissance style is flamboyant. First museum in the world (according to them...) following the passion of the owner for collections. And indeed they are beautiful and very interesting. We had a great time there. Suitable for both young and old. Recommended. If you take the tickets on the net you will have a discount and be careful there are not many places to park your car in case of crowds. Privilege the bus that stops in front.

Loved this castle museum!

The medieval armor for horses and humans was AMAZING! The renaissance hall and the other museum collections here were also well worth the visit. This museum was much better than I expected, truely a high quality museum and I’m so glad we made the visit.
