Met all of my expectations and is very good
We had an incredible day at Sinharaja rainforest. Our driver arrived ahead of time, drove very carefully and was very polite and checked in with us regularly to see if we needed to stop for anything on the way to and from the park. Our forest guide, Baguera, was amazing. It cannot be guaranteed that you will see anything on your trip, that’s obviously the nature of wildlife. But baguera was so knowledgable and was able to locate multiple animals. He also took close up photos for me on my phone. He clearly loves his job and the animals that the rainforest houses. He was enthusiastic and we were so lucky to have him as our guide. He brought us to the waterfall at the end so we could swim. He also brought us a delicious meal made by his wife. It was wonderful and we had it by the waterfall. I would highly recommend this trip.
we liked very much, very beautiful nature. the handling (transport transfer, communication the guidance flawlessly) the socks against leeches are recommended (are not expensive to acquire) we are happy to recommend
We were picked up more than on time. The driver was very accommodating and has also offered to stop during the drive so we can look at stores etc. On the way into the jungle he also told us some interesting things. From him we also got a pack of peanuts and a bottle of water each. We ordered leech socks in advance. We also got these from the driver. On site we were picked up by our tour guide. It's incredible what he found among all the trees and bushes. We have seen some lizards, snakes, spiders, centipedes, birds and even monkeys. Bathing in front of the waterfall was the crowning achievement. There we got another delicious meal, which the wife of the tour guide cooked. All in all it was a nice trip. The three hours were very exhausting but it was definitely worth it.
With great communication from the start, this rainforest tour is a must! Our wonderful and friendly driver Thushara really looked after us. The road leading to Sinharaja was flooded so he organised a tuk tuk to take us the remainder of the way, which added to the fun experience! The tour guide was incredible and found us so many things to see… iguanas, chameleon, monkeys, snakes, scorpions and was lovely to see how excited he still gets after 20 years of doing this job. The waterfall is beautiful and what a lovely place to have a home cooked lunch sat on the rocks taking it all in. Thank you again to Roshan, the lovely Thushara and wonderful guide who made this trip for us.
Have enough time for the ride and the walk. Good footwear and condition, the path is partly steep and leads through the water. Beautiful with the mood, sounds and bathing at the end.
The tour was very well organized, with the hotel pickup and return. In the Sinharaja forest, we saw many different animals, experienced a unique atmosphere, and had an excellent guide who showed us many beautiful things that we would have missed otherwise. It was a great experience.
Sinharaja is a huge reserve with multiple trail options. We took one where a car picked us from Bentota and drove 2 hours to one of the reserve entrances. I did not catch the name of our trail, it was 10 KM long including the return, through the jungle and ended in a waterfall. It was splendid. We experienced multiple wildlife and fauna. The guide was a local and carrying lunch boxes for us. We were offered to dine beside the waterfall, but there were no infrastructure and chances of littering, so we skipped it. The trail towards the waterfall goes through a little rough terrain, be ware of that. It was one of our best experiences in Sri Lanka. But if I had known there are multiple trail options, I would have planned better.
We had a fantastic time during this tour. Our transportation was on time and the van they drove us in was comfortable and well air conditioned and our driver was very considerate. The tour operator made an effort to personally meet us and bring us our water and snacks etc before we departed, this was lovely - thank you Roshan. The guide itself was fantastic, beautiful sights throughout the entire rainforest and our guide took so much time to show us all of the trees and told us the name of them and pointed out so many different species of lizards and insects as well as some monkeys. Halfway through the tour we were given a lovely homemade lunch which we ate at the Kakuna waterfall after we went for a nice swim. I highly recommend this activity.
Amazing trip. Unbelievable rain forest - colors, ever changing vegetation, trees, ferns, water ways and of course the waterfall and the other little ones. My fit-bit recorded that I walked 13 klms. Didn't seem like this at all as it was an easy stroll. The lunch provided was eaten at the waterfall and this was rather special. Pickup and drop off went smoothly. Special mention and three cheers to our guide through the rain forest Wigitha. He was very informative and just very happy to be taking us on this tour. He is very proud of the rain forest. I did hold a non venomous snake for photo purposes. If you can fit this into your itinerary please take the opportunity.
