The distance from Galle to the forest is short but the roads are small so it takes just 2.5hrs to get there. But the drive is sedate through beautiful tea country. There’s plenty to marvel at along the way. The forest trail is very easy to walk but do wear some sturdy shoes as there are things that bite. I saw monkeys, lizards, birds, snakes, big bugs, spiders, butterflies and even crabs. There’s so much to see. Also the forest guide was excellent at pointing things out and his wife was an amazing home cook so breakfast and lunch were delicious. I left fit to burst with food and a camera full of amazing animals.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the drive, the forest trail, and all the wildlife. We’re glad the guide and his wife made your visit extra special with their knowledge and delicious meals. It’s wonderful to hear you left with amazing memories and photos!
