Temples by cycle is the best way to go!

An amazing experience with an amazing guide. Awesome way to see the country side, off-road villages and a different aspect of the temples rather than by car or tuk tuk. We are mid-50s and managed the flat 30km easily. Bikes were greats quality. Yes it was hot, but it wasnt a race. Mr Sarak made our day special. Great English, great knowledge, great patience. He was perfect at knowing when to give us some space. I would highky recommend this tour and recommend asking for Mr Sarek.

Incredible Alternative Tour!

Seng from Discova Bike Tour was our guide for the day and we pretty much lucked out - with only two of us on the tour and our guide it felt like a private tour. It's an early start at 7.30am meeting at the pick up point, but Seng was kind enough to sort us out with coffee's to get us started for the day before heading out on the bike. First on the tour is the incredible Angkor Wat where you spend about an hour exploring the temple. Seng was incredibly knowledgable about the history of the temple and even the markings that had been carved into the temple stones. It's then back on the bike to head to Angkor City (the city of temples) where you head to the Bayon Temple (famous for the smiling stone faces), before then setting off to the final temple of the tour, Ta Prohm (famous from the Hollywood movie "Tomb Raider") which is surrounded by lush jungle. There's plenty of time to park up the bikes and explore the temples, along with some private time to explore without the guide too. There's a set-menu lunch in a traditional Vietnamese lunch, which was absolutely delicious. After lunch it's then back to Siem Reap town (takes about 35 minutes on the bike) to complete the tour. Our guide, Seng, said that we finished quite early, and that the tours normally finish finish around 3.30-4pm. We finished at 2.30pm, but probably because there was only 2 of us! It's a very enjoyable day, cycling some 19 miles through the forests and the temples. We'd highly recommend as an alternative to the traditional tours!

Exercise and history combo

Absolutely perfect day. Learned a lot about the history of the temples, region and Cambodian culture. We had such an adventure riding bikes around the jungle with Lem, who was such an excellent guide. The biking was fun, especially since we got to bike around areas through the jungle surrounding the temples on trails we never would have discovered or dare go on ourselves.

Operator response

Thank you for your wonderful review. We’re delighted to hear you had a perfect day exploring the temples and learning about Cambodian history and culture. It’s great to know Lem made the adventure so memorable and that you enjoyed biking through the jungle trails around the temples. Great day at great location!

I truly enjoyed the bike tour to the Angkor temples. By bicycle, the main temples are very easily accessible, and my guide Sarak chose beautiful trails through the forest that were much more pleasant to ride than simply staying on the main road. Sarak is also a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. He not only shared information about the Angkor temples but also provided valuable insights into Cambodia’s history as well as Hindu and Buddhist religions.

Amazing

Great day out with a great Guide. Took us into the temples via rear routes away from the crowds. One of the most amazing things I have done. However this is not for everyone. It was incredibly hot and by lunch time was almost too hot and needed options to cool off as it was almost unbearable. The day would have been better off being shorter and finishing by lunch. After lunch we had all had enough. Shame as brilliant adventure.

Wated Out by Bike

Fabulous day visiting the three main wats by bike: Angkor, Ta Prohm, and Bayon. Our guide was extremely attentive, provided interesting historical commentry, and paced the tour well, stopping off at regular intervals for fruits, toilet breaks, and/or to replenish our water bottles. Bikes are well maintained - mine was a Cannondale cx with front suspension - and the cycle paths are mostly in jungle shade, so it does not feel too horrendeous in the afternoon when the heat picks up. Highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic way to Explore the temples by bicycle and great guide

Fantastic day out from Siem Reap to cycle out to the temples and surrounding woodland. Totally recommend if you enjoy discovering new places by bicycle in the company of a great guide. Much of the route is off road through woodland trails. Mountain Bikes are well maintained distance covered is approximately 30km the full day was 7-30 till 4pm - our guide was Vuttha Dam who was good company and really informative about the temples and history- lunch was great in an air conditioned restaurant which was much needed- well recommended day out 10/10

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. We’re thrilled you enjoyed the full-day cycling tour, exploring temples and woodland trails with Vuttha Dam. It’s great to hear the bikes, lunch, and overall experience met your expectations. We appreciate your recommendation!

Really good trip, but a bit demanding

Our guide Davith was good and knowledgeable about everything we saw along the way. If you are not a frequent cyclist (and I am not), 30 km in the saddle can be a bit of a challenge, but Davith was good at taking into account and ensuring that it still became a good day :-)

Operator response

Thank you for your kind review! We’re happy to hear Davith’s knowledge and attentiveness helped make the tour enjoyable, even with the longer distance. We appreciate you joining us and hope to welcome you again.
