My wife and I enjoyed some characterful wines. 190% recommended
Thank you for your fantastic feedback on the Sicilian Soul Winery Tour in Catania. We're delighted that you and your wife enjoyed the bold, character-driven wines that make Sicily so special. Sharing that kind of authentic tasting experience, with local food pairings and the warmth of Etna's vineyards, is exactly what we aim for. A 190% recommendation means the world to us, and we would love to welcome you both back for another round of Sicilian hospitality.
OK so we tried to plan getting there and still didn't really work. Getting here is potentially tricky and not cheap if you don't drive there.. But it's wine tasting, why would you drive? No direct bus to anywhere close, we tried bus part of the way then hoped getting a taxi would be easy.. No. Definitely plan this better or it will be at least €35 each way roughly from Catania. We got ripped off €80 there and they helped with the €35 taxi back. Moan out of the way.. Once there it was fantastic. Our host was great, very knowledgeable and we learnt so much about the history of the wines and processes and as you can see from the photos a great place. We have done a wine tasting elsewhere in Italy and left very tipsy, this was a different experience. If you want a wine tasting where you genuinely learn so much and everything this is the one for you, If you want a wine tasting to get you tipsy or drunk this isn't the one for you. Regardless of the massive mission and expense getting to and from, the actual tour itself was very good indeed and staff were great!
We had a great time here even though there were only the 3 of us. We tried local produce and wines with great explanations of the wines and how it’s made. Would have been even better if we had been sat outside in the sunshine.
The winery is out of town so a taxi or private car is necessary. The winery tour was fabulous, we learned a lot about how the wine was made in earlier days. The delicacies portion of the tour was delicious and relaxing. We would highly recommend this tour

Too hard to get from our Hotel to the location and the cost of a transfer would have been far more than the value of the tour which we paid for in advance so we chose not to do this tour and just lose our money paid. I wrote in advance about local transport to the winery location and I was told it was inexpensive and easy. Not so. If you don't have your own transportation don't do this tour. Especially if you are like us and haven't been to Sicily before

Delicious wine, delicious pairings, very informative host.

It was very interesting to learn about the old culture and the tour guide spoke very good English. They were very polite and the wine and the food tasting was incredible. Some advice, don't eat before as there is a lot of food! Also, if you turn up early, the gate may be locked but worth the wait!
