Itinerary
Puerto Plata's biggest attraction offers you a walk through dense forests, passing over bridges and discovering numerous species of flora, before reaching the top of a rocky hill from where you will begin your descent of 7 waterfalls either by jumping or sliding down a series of waterfalls which are available with a guide who will go with you explaining and showing you how to slide or jump.
Umbrella Street has a wonderful and very relaxed atmosphere, it has bars, shops, an ice cream parlor, a coffee shop. Perfect to have a good time with family, partner or friends, and also to capture that experience by taking beautiful photographs.
The Paseo de Doña Blanca or La calle de Rosa de Puerto Plata is a beautiful attraction located in the center of the city where you can capture your stay in beautiful photos and videos that make your senses fall in love. The Paseo de Doña Blanca is undoubtedly one of the most visited picturesque attractions in the country, located in Puerto Plata, which is one of the tourist cities of the Dominican Republic that has great cultural, historical wealth and how to forget its gastronomy. On this beautiful island we find large cities, municipalities and beautiful corners.
Offers visitors a glimpse into the Dominican Republic's impressive process of making premium cigars. See perfected hand-rolling methods and learn about processing tobacco from leaf to cigar. You'll also be able to roll your own cigar during your visit, as well as buy premium brands direct from the source.
Larimar and amber are two natural jewels from the Dominican Republic that people colloquially know as the blue stone or the love stone, the first, and the good luck gem, the second. The larimar was discovered when workers from the province of Barahona saw that strange blue stones were washed into the sea by the rivers. Amber is a fossilized resin that has flowed over 60 million years ago from the carob trees planted in the vast fields of Santiago and Puerto Plata.
San Felipe Fortress was built by the Spanish in the 16th century to defend the north coast of the country from the English and Dutch, as well as French pirates in search of the abundant gold and silver in the area. It is considered one of the most important colonial military structures in the Caribbean, it was completed in 1577 and later served as a prison until the years of the dictator Trujillo. Today it is a museum that exhibits the original cannons facing the Atlantic, ancient weapons, and numerous secret chambers. It offers spectacular views over the coast of Puerto Plata and watching the sunset from the foot of the fortress, next to La Puntilla park, is a daily activity for Puerto Plata residents.

Highly recommend this company and this excursion for your visit to the Dominican Republic!! We (my mom, sister and I) did a Caribbean cruise and booked this excursion through trip advisor instead of the cruiseline because they offered a combined waterfall experience and city tour which the cruiseline didn't. This ended up being our favorite experience of the whole trip!!! Alfredo was our driver, he picked us up inside the taxi area of the Amber Cove port which was so easy. (They are in lime green shirts! So look for those - they said look for him in a green shirt and there was another company also in green but everyone at this port was very helpful, friendly and made sure we got connected with the right group). Alfredo was a great driver and made sure we were well taken care of in the car and at each stop! We loved hearing about the DR during the drive. Francisco gave us the city tour and was very engaging and informative! We did the waterfalls first and were a little worn out come time for the city tour but still had a great time seeing the sites and learning about the local area. It was so helpful to have a local there guiding us. Francisco was also a great photographer taking many photos for us! I highly recommend booking any Dominican Republic adventure through this team (Lasanc Transfers Tours)!!
This was an awesome experience! Junior was an amazing tour guide. The waterfalls were stunning and thrilling, with our tour of the city being second to none! Junior personally escorted us throughout the town, telling us about each stop along the way. We were busy the entire day, and got some free samples as well. I would recommend this to anybody heading to Puerto Plata!
The falls were very nice to do. It was touristy but that didn't make it any less fun. The city tour with the local guide was very nice. We came to different places and the guide was flexible. We enjoyed this personal tour. The rum on the bus is worth a try, delicious!
The tour was very fun. Junior was super nice and friendly and Elvis was great as well! He takes lots of photos for you which you can then purchase. The waterfalls is absolutely a must do activity, and while the city center is smaller than I expected, I think it is still worth a look. I would do it before the waterfalls though, because they were very tiring! Overall, would absolutely recommend!
Our driver Felix Jr was super nice & knowledgeable The waterfalls are beautiful Worth the high climb up the mountain (wear comfortable shoes!)
Amazing trip and great experience with Junior. Highly recommend, but the cliffs are legitimately high! Great adrenaline rush!
Luis Alfredo was our city tour guide for the first part of the tour!! He took us through the city and we took tons of pics and learned about their culture!! The kids enjoyed the cigar making experiences ! Best Tour guide!! Second part was the waterfall tour in the Dominican Republic with our family, and it was an incredible experience! The scenery was absolutely stunning, with lush greenery and beautiful waterfalls. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone was safe and comfortable. We had plenty of time to enjoy the falls and take photos, and the jumping into the falls was a highlight for all of us.!!
Very good vibes and was very nice and helpful. Took good care of us and gave us a really wonderful time for the day we spent with him. As well as the photographer he brought along with us. Would definitely do it again.
Alfredo was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable about the area, played great music in the car and held great conversation, we made many stops within the city including a cigar shop where we made our own, after we went to the waterfalls and had an amazing time with a photography who took many pictures, overall great experience
Eddie picked us up quickly at the meeting spot just outside the port area. No worries finding it, all the tour operators are there. Our tour was roughly 1/2 what it would have cost if purchased on the ship. Eddie got us to the falls quickly and safely, he's a very good driver and the vehicle is comfortable. He even held our stuff while we were at the falls. The falls experience was a lot of fun but I advise you to bring really good water shoes with a thick and stable sole. You will be walking on the tops of rocks for hours. Some of the rocks are small pebbles, some around almost a foot in length/width. I didn't bring my own shoes, just used the rental water shoes. At some point, I twisted my back and/or pulled a muscle and am in pretty sharp pain the next day if I move a certain way. I'm not young but am pretty active, I do Zumba 5 days a week most weeks and stair climbing machine four times. Another person in our group slipped on a rock and evidently hurt her arm. I think probably better shoes would have prevented both falls. I hope I'm better tomorrow so I can fully enjoy the rest of my cruise. After the excursion, Eddie was there at the end waiting for us, with our bag in hand. Really professional. We were on our way back to the cruise ship in no time. I was too hurt to take the city tour. Our underwater camera did not work well so we don't have any good photos but we do have good memories!
