Itinerary

15 min

The May Square is located in the Porteño Downtown, neighborhood of Monserrat, in the area where the foundation of Buenos Aires took place. The Plaza de Mayo is the most important and oldest public square of the city. The name of this square commemorates the Revolution of May 25, 1810, date in which the citizens gathered around to expel the Viceroy and form a creole government. Since then, the Square has been a silent witness to the most important political and social events in the country.

Pass by

San Telmo is an old neighborhood with a bohemian touch thanks to its temporary art galleries, night bars and street murals. The Defensa street, full of antique shops and bustling brasseries, passes through the Dorrego square, where many tourists come on Sundays to see the street market and street performances. Winding roads run through Lezama Park among jacaranda trees. The neighborhood is full of exclusive restaurants with tango shows.

15 min

La Boca is a working class neighborhood that has several attractions next to the Riachuelo. Asadores and street artists mark the entire Caminito, a narrow alley flanked by brightly colored zinc houses that evoke its origin as an immigrant neighborhood. The Bombonera is the Boca Juniors stadium and a whole hotbed on match days. The Proa Foundation is a museum of modern art with temporary exhibitions and views of the old docks.

5 min

Caminito is a museum alley and a traditional passage, of great cultural and tourist value, located in the La Boca neighborhood of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The place acquired cultural significance because it inspired the music of the famous tango Caminito (1926), composed by Juan de Dios Filiberto.

Pass by

Puerto Madero is a renovated neighborhood that faces the bay. Its renovated redbrick buildings house exclusive grills frequented by tourists and businessmen at lunchtime. There are also modern skyscrapers with multinationals and luxury apartments. The lakes in the area are surrounded by trails, as is the ecological reserve Costanera Sur, very popular with runners and families. The elegant suspension bridge of the Woman connects the ports.

Pass by

Retiro is a neighborhood with great diversity and quiet streets. Art galleries and chic coffee shops lead to the emblematic and busy train station of Retiro, British style and surrounded by fast food stalls. The art deco tower of the Kavanagh building offers views of the Plaza San Martín, a steep park where office employees rest in the shelter of jacaranda and patriotic monuments. Tourists flock to the Florida pedestrian street for its leather goods boutiques, souvenir stalls and tango dancers.

20 min

Recoleta is a strollable, affluent area known for Paris-style townhouses, lavish former palaces and posh boutiques

Great tour guide showed us many different sights and perspectives of Buenos Aires.

Marcelo was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything along the tour, giving us context and a lot of local color as well. I really felt that I got to know the city well. He was also very accommodating with our comfort and made sure that we had something to eat and drink and pointed out interesting shops for each of us. I really appreciated our time with him and would recommend him to anyone. Thank you again.

Great Guides Make for Great Tours

Our city tour was a wonderful way to get to know Buenos Aires. The three hours went by in a flash. Our guide, Miriam, was a true professional. She provided wonderful details for each of the five neighborhoods we visited and safely ushered our group across the busy streets. No mean feat in Buenos Aires! She also managed to gather us under the shade trees at every stop; a much appreciated skill on a hot, sunny day. The bus was modern, the driver skilled, and the A/C worked like a champ. The best excursion of our cruise at a fraction of the price.

Interesting Buenos Aires

Although the guide was given a later meet time to what we were given we did enjoy the relaxed and friendly tour. The city was busy but our guide took extra care to ensure we got to experience things without getting lost.

Excellent tour

Our tour guide “ Stella” was very informative, friendly and professional . She gave us excellent insight on the history of Buenos Aires and Argentina. Our driver “ Emiliano “ was cautious and always gave us a hand to get in / out of the van. It was nice that the tour was done in a small mini van rather than a huge bus. Take the tour at the beginning of your stay, it gives you a good idea on how to plan the rest of your time in Buenos Aires. I strongly recommend this tour with Signature Tours, very reliable and on time. Enjoy BA..

Small group experience

The variety of areas of the city that we saw were wonderful. From the formal to the arty to the historical it was all a great experience. And we could end the tour at the cemetery instead of taking the bus back to the ship. That way we could get our own lunch in the city and make our way back in a leisurely manner. It was also nice not to have a large group on the tour. It made getting around much easier and you could always see and hear our tour guide.

City tour

Tour was very good but had a hard time finding Ailine as she did not have a sign and there was much confusion as to where the pick up was suppose to be. Cruise ships passengers were disembarking and new passengers were loading so there were thousands of people in the area. Took us 30 minutes to hook up with the tour

An excellent comprehensive tour with a good English speaking guide. Felt the tour was good value for money and our guide Mariela had excellent knowledge.

Nice tour, but needs better organization

The content of the tour and the knowledge of the guide were quite good, however the delays in starting the tour due to poor organization are unacceptable. The pick up at the port was chaos and it was only by pure luck that we found our guide. No instructions on where to wait and no card to tell us who to group with. Two inquiries at the port terminal information desk were fruitless. No one seemed to have a clue. Even worse, we ended up waiting 25 minutes for people to join the tour at a hotel. They never showed up, but eventually joined the tour at one of the stops along the way.

Great way to see lots during port day from cruise

Great guide, good tour. Could have had more time in some places. Worked for us. Picked us up at port and would have returned us too, but we were able to leave after cemetery and walk to National Art Museum and then walk back to port.
