Shore Excursion: Caribbean Highlights Tour from Limon
Description
During this tour, you will get to experience some of Limon's main activities in one day. You will visit a local rainforest from a unique point of view: the Tortuguero Canals! These are part of the Tortuguero river and withholds a great diversity of wildlife that can be spotted from our boat tour (Monkeys, aquatic birds, iguanas, basilisks, and maybe sloths.... Remember this is Nature!, Sometimes there is only a gorgeous jungle landscape!) in its environment. Then we will explain all the details about the banana production on a Banana Plantation Tour, we'll see nature and learn about the Caribbean culture and end the tour with a city tour of Limon.

Itinerary
At around 11 a.m. you will head to the Tortuguero Canals where you can spot dozens of aquatic birds and hopefully monkeys and other mammals.
You will end the day at Playa Bonita where we can enjoy some of the warm Caribbean waters followed by a city tour of Limon.
The Tortuguero canals are filled with aquatic wildlife the luscious green surrounding the river will provide peace and you will learn about the tropical nature

Pickup Locations & Times
Upon debarkation, please look for our GioTours representative, who will be waiting for you at the yellow pier gate following the white stripes on the ground, located after the souvenir market. Our representative will be wearing khaki pants and a white button-down shirt with the GioTours logo on it and will be holding a sign that says "GioTours" with your name on it. We kindly request that all guests please plan to be at the designated meeting location at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time listed above.

We enjoyed every part of this tour! The zip line was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Juan was a perfect guide and so were the guides at each location. Compadre is the BEST driver!

Jeny our guide was awesome and Brian our driver was great. The city tour was quick as we were all super hot! A better bathroom stop with more than one bano would be better. Also can the tickets for the IMAX be bought ahead of time so once we are there the group can be seated together? The admission price can be added to the tour price .
Our tour guide CJ was excellent. Tour delivered on what is was supposed to. Bus was very comfortable and the aiir conditioning was excellent

Jean Carlo and Rafa were awesome! I scheduled a private tour and Jean Carlo made great recommendations with how you spend our time. He also took pictures for me as i was struggling to zoom in on the monkeys and sloths. We had a great day!!!

Juan Carlo our guide taught us about the province of Limon. We went to the rainforest on the canals and saw many birds, sloths, monkeys and even a crocodile!!!! Then we went to a botanical garden of sorts and learned about the fertile soil and all the exotic and not so exotic plants (aka bananas)that grow there. We tried the fruit, got to shop and the highlight was a nice empanada and a Costa Rican beer!(not included) Then a stop at one of the few sandy beaches in Limon, Playa Bonita! We recommend this tour as safe and great way to learn and experience the area!
