Begin with a pickup from your accommodation in Tirana and head to Shkodra City, the cultural capital of North Albania.First, visit the Castle of Rozafa, where the 2,000-year-old history of the city is hidden in the walls. Wander through ancient stone walls where Illyrians, Romans, Venetians, and Ottomans once stood. Be captivated by the legend of Rozafa, a tale of sacrifice and strength that still echoes through the castle's stones. Take in panoramic vistas of Lake Shkodra, the Drin and Buna rivers, and the Albanian Alps beyond.
Next, head to the center of Shkodra city, Gjuhadol. Step into the soul of Shkodër, once home to diplomats and poets. Today, Gjuhadol is the city’s cultural heart, a lively pedestrian zone lined with cozy guesthouses, jazz bars, flower stalls, and artisan shops. Enjoy 1 hour of free time to wander on your own and explore the charming and artistic center.
After your free time in Shkoder, take a short drive to visit one of the most iconic bridges of Albania, Mesi Bridge. This Ottoman bridge has stood for 250 years and is renowned for its architecture, featuring 13 stone arches. It remains one of the best-preserved Ottoman bridges in Albania.
Finally, enjoy a traditional lunch at a cozy restaurant by Lake Shkodra before heading back to Tirana.

I visited this city on a day trip and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a charming town with plenty of excellent restaurants, clean streets, and a welcoming atmosphere. The people were friendly everywhere I went. A highlight of the visit was the Fortress Razafa, which is truly a must-see. The views over the city from there are absolutely stunning.

Everything felt clean and welcoming, and the people were friendly wherever we went. A visit to Rozafa Castle is an absolute must. The experience itself is unforgettable, and the panoramic view over the city from the top is simply breathtaking.
We had a wonderful day in Shkodra, exploring the castle, strolling through the beautiful city, and ending the evening at a fantastic local restaurant. Although the weather wasn’t ideal, it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. We learned so much about the local history and enjoyed many engaging and meaningful conversations throughout the day.
