Along the way, you will visit the fabulous Ananuri complex, located near the quiet waters of the Zhinvali reservoir, see the beauty of the mountain rivers and gorges of the Caucasus, and at the end of the path you will be able to enjoy the peace in the Gergeti Church, which offers a magnificent view of the village of Kazbegi below, and the majestic Mount Kazbek above. Itinerary
The first stop and you immediately find yourself in the abyss of fabulous beauty. This is the Zhinvali reservoir. 520 million cubic meters of turquoise-colored water fills the beautiful gorge. Eye-catching!!!
Along the way we will visit the architectural complex of Ananuri – the former residence of the princes of Aragvi. The churches and medieval towers of Ananuri rise majestically above the Zhinvali reservoir, embraced by the slopes of the Caucasus Mountains.
We continue the tour with a stop at the confluence of two mountain rivers near the village of Pasanauri. The peculiarity of this place is that each of the two rivers has its own color and when the waters of the two rivers merge, they flow parallel to each other for a long time without mixing. Time to have lunch in a cozy place with beautiful views. Pasanauri is especially famous for its khinkali and more.
Our journey will continue through the Cross Pass to Gudauri with a stop at the panoramic observation deck of the Soviet period “Friendship of Peoples”, which offers a picturesque view of the deep gorge of the Caucasus Range. In Gudauri we will have a tasting of local honey.
We arrive in Kazbegi and take off-road vehicles to the Gergeti Trinity Church, located at an altitude of 2170 meters above sea level.

A fantastic trip. The guide, misha, was fantastic, articulate, informative, funny and helpful. All the stops were timely and well planned. Views etc, all amazing. We got off in stepantsminda and stayed for a couple of nights.
An amazing day in the Khazbegi mountains. We had a great guide telling us about all the historical places we visited throughout the day. There were a lot of photo opportunities and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. Much appreciated and recommended if you are in Tbilisi and have a chance to go on this tour!
