Shared Archaeological Tour in San Pedro de Atacama

Description
We know that it is the commitment to show and teach history, and we consider that to start with the different excursions or landscapes we offer, it is necessary to start with the grandparents. It is one of those excursions that take you back in time to theirs, and that brings you closer to the origins of the Atacameña Culture, going through part of its archaeological sites full of history, such as Tulor Village and Pucara de Quitor.

Itinerary
Tulor Village: One of the oldest sites in the Chronological theme, dating from the first settlements in the basin of Salar de Atacama and that can be visited, since there are older ones that are not accessible. Whereas Tulor has been preserved for centuries under the sand.
Pucara de Quitor: It is an Indigenous Fortress, one of its theories is that it is born by internal conflicts between communities due to the decline (fall) of the Tiawanaku Culture and that time later stands out as one of the first clashes between Spaniards and Indigenous.

Javier, our guide on the tour, very attentive, kind and prepared
The trip was unique, with much more history of early local settlers who lived there for thousands of years, and much more beautiful landscape views than I anticipated. I would say the local tour industry should promote this site tour more, compared to other popular trips. If you want a combined exploration of history, hiking, and landscaping, this trip is it. The guide, Daniel, was nice, experienced, and knowledgeable. The snacks and drinks were a great plus. I highly recommend Whipala Expedition, the tour company that organized this trip. They provided clear instructions before the trip and communicated with me timely. I even added more trips with them during my stay in San Pedro de Atacama. Their staff were professional and respectful. I enjoyed all the trips very much.
