Shared 2 hours Sosúa Bay Snorkeling with Professional Guide

Oh my gosh this was the best experience! Miguel was so kind and fun and we had an absolute BLAST! The water was warm and the reef was so beautiful! We had so much fun and will recommend this to absolutely everybody!

This was an Awesome experience from start to finish. As soon as I send my inquiry, Savanah replied back with warmth and patience. She explained the optional tours and even booked us a private tour with a driver to accommodate our schedule. She was easy to communicate with. We are a family of 5 and had a wonderful snorkel tour with Miguel! He gave us clear instructions in a fun manner and took great videos of us snorkeling and laughing! The boat ride to the spots was part of the enjoyable experience. We hope to come back again Soon. Thank you!

The whole team at Dive Cabarete is amazing. We (four adults) booked a private tour for the day our cruise ship was in port. Savannah arranged for a taxi (minivan) to meet us at the port (Puerto Plata) and transport us to Sousua Beach (about 45 minutes). The cost was USD 80 return. The taxi waited at Sousua Beach for our snorkelling to finish and then returned us back to the port. We were required to prepay for the taxi and that’s the only issue we had with the booking process. Payment has to be made via PayPal and none of our party had a PayPal account. We finally managed to find someone that was able to make the payment on our behalf. You pay for the snorkelling tour in person when you arrive at Dive Cabarete’s store. They do not accept credit card payments, so remember to take cash. The cost was USD 45 per person. We had the tour to ourselves. Miguel, our snorkelling guide, was fantastic. He knows the area well and took bread so there would be plenty of fish around when we went in the water. Another bonus is Miguel takes videos and pictures of the group before leaving the beach and once in the water – and they are then provided to us for free – what a wonderful add-on. The photos and videos are transferred directly from their SD card via a phone to one of our group’s phones, so make sure you have plenty of space available to make the transfer easy. One of our group had a bad snorkelling experience previously and was apprehensive about getting back in the water. Miguel was very empathetic making sure he provided a life-jacket for him and was constantly checking he was okay. We went to two snorkelling spots. I think the tour was around one and a half hours in total. When we were in the water large groups of people from two catamaran tours got in the water so the area became crowded. We much preferred being in a small group with a guide who got us back in the boat and moved us to a quieter area. Our group consisted of 4 adults (74, 72, 66 and 35). We had no problems getting up the 3 rung ladder at the side of the boat, with assistance from Miguel in the water and the boat driver in the boat. There is a toilet at the Dive Cabarete shop and a shower to rinse off after the tour. Savannah kept our valuables under the front counter where she was working and there are cupboards available to put clothes etc in. Two of our party work in the travel industry and will have no hesitation recommending Dive Cabarete for private snorkelling tours.

Miguel Santana is super knowledgeable, very friendly and capable freediver. I went with two friends who were surface snorkeling and he took me to some 30-40' sites for some deepish freedives. There's no spearfishing in Sosua bay, but it was nice to get under the water again. There are great and healthy coral structures very close.to the beach in as little as a few feet of water for beginners.

From start to finish our experience booking with Dive Cabarete was simple easy and straightforward. Savannah was amazing to help accommodate our schedule. Once we arrived Miguel our guide ensured we were spoiled with memories to last a life time. The relaxed and personal atmosphere made going snorkelling with them something I’d HIGHLY recommend.

Miguel was a fantastic guide! We saw a range of fishes and had a blast on the boat. I would recommend this dive shop to anyone visiting Cabarete or Sousa.

Great team with amazing expierience. You get skilled, motivated guides! I was just in a small group with another diver, while I went snorkeling. Both of us got one guide and I for myself felt really comfortable with both of them. Their management is also very nice and flexible, they were very helpful and understanding. Plus they provided fruits and water, which was perfect. I'll definitely chose the same company if I get back to the Dominican Republic. So thanks, all of you!

A wonderful tour! We go to see a little bit of Sosua from the ocean as we boated to two nearby corals. My friend and I had a private tour as no one else booked the same day as us which was incredibly lucky! We saw hundreds of fish in the beautiful coral and even saw the process of remaking the coral. Miguel was a great tour guide. He brought along his GoPro camera to take many scenic videos, capturing the mountain views, the fish, and us. He also sent us all the videos for free! His team was super kind to us as well! Overall a great experience that I highly recommend!

Went with a very good friend and had the pleasure of being the only two on the excursion with our guide Miguel. Miguel greeted our taxi and immediately we felt super comfortable. Everyone there was extremely friendly and answered all questions. Miguel ensured we were comfortable the entire time and made sure to capture many different areas and fish. I couldn’t recommend this place more! Can’t wait to come back and get my scuba certification!

We booked this trip with the affiliated Sousa Party Boat. They said it was a package deal and that a dive guide would bring the equipment on the boat. When we got there, they separated us from our group to go on a smaller boat and said they would take us directly to the larger boat after the dive. The water was very choppy and not very safe to dive. The divemaster did not go over the operation of the equipment with us and put us in the water quickly with no snorkels to help us breathe in the large swells. After the lackluster dive the “captain” refused to take us to the larger party boat with our friends because they said we needed to pay back at the shop. All of our belongings and any money was on the larger party boat where they promised to take us. Long story short, we were held hostage until the operator of the larger boat said they would cover the cost until we could settle the bill. A total sh*tshow that ruined our trip. I would tell anyone and everyone to avoid this company.
