Perfect opportunity to see the marine life around Agios Nikolaos. As mentioned by others, the best view is looking outward. I (as did others) sacked off looking out of the inner window, stood up and looked at the outside windows instead where there was more to see. Educational commentary. Ideal way to see the coastline in the second half of the trip from the deck.
Don’t get me wrong, the boat ride is absolutely lovely. You get to go out of Agios, on the top then as your at the fish area where u can see the fish the boat men then invite you downstairs to take a seat and see them. My issue is that the man in charge put all the women on the left side, which had only half a view. Yeah, my 3 year old got to see the best side with dad, but it’s very sexist in my opinion and ruined it for me. Make sure u don’t sit where u can see the other people at the side of the boat as all you end up doing it crouching to see them through the window.
When I got on the boat I sat down and my iPhone fell out of my pocket and into the sea. The boat was still in the harbour. The captain got on his moped, went and got his snorkelling gear, and one of the crew members dived down 5 meters to retrieve it for me. They showed me such kindness that they didn’t have to do. The trip itself was lovely, we saw lots of different types of fish which hang around the boat for a long time as they’re being fed. Thank you!
We were well received and it was also pretty. Only you just see the same kind of fish 3 times throughout the trip and I think that's a shame. You're also pretty tight in that bowl
Nice experience but a bit taken aback when the park guide said women on one side, men on the other... In fact, there are 2 lines on the boat, so 2 where you can see the inside of the boat and 2 the outside... In other words, the women saw the inside, which was nothing, just 2 or 3 fish that got lost between the 2 parts of the boat, while the men were able to admire all the wildlife.
First of all, the price-performance ratio was right. We chased a nice trip, yet there are a few prints. Everything had to go the way the crew wanted. The friendliness fell a bit by the wayside. Below the deck there is a kind of glass cabin with a bench in the middle on each left and right. If you're lucky, you sit with your eyes out. There you can definitely see more. In the places for fishing observation, food is thrown into the water, so that some fish are also attracted. At the end of the tour you are asked to the deck or upper deck and you take a small round trip on the coast of Aghios nikolaos which was very informative and interesting.
Mixed experience. My husband and I were back to back... the staff on the boat put us like this. Except that we were not allowed to change places and as stated in other opinions, one side of the hull is facing the other hull (it is a catamaran) and therefore sees nothing. For those who are outward-looking, it is indeed much more interesting!
Make sure you seat kids on the side.with the large windows. I think the guys running it could also be a bit friendlier.
It could have been a 5-star trip; unfortunately, a few small shortcomings spoiled the overall impression. What we liked: 1. The trip was long (I mention this because, in other Greek ports, we had the unpleasant surprise of being back at the pier in less than half an hour). 2. It wasn't just long, but also very interesting: we saw many fish, and the underwater landscape was varied and beautiful. We especially enjoyed the moment when, on one side of the ship, we could see the edge of the sea abyss — it's fascinating to look into that endless depth. 3. The crew was very kind. 4. During the trip, the guide shared a lot of interesting information. 5. The return journey, when we went up on deck, was also very pleasant. What we didn't like: 1. In an attempt to maximize profit, the owners load the ship to the brim. Personally, we would rather pay a bit more than be packed like sardines in a can. 2. We had the misfortune of traveling with several families with children, who expressed their enthusiasm in an age-appropriate (but noisy) way. The result: we returned with migraines. It might be a good idea to organize separate tours for families with kids. 3. One last point, which I mention only for the sake of objectivity: we had seats facing outward, and the view was fantastic; those seated on the inner side saw almost nothing... perhaps only the disappointed faces of the unlucky tourists in the opposite compartment.
The boat has 4 rows of seats “Underwater”. If you are assigned to the inner row, you unfortunately do not get your money's worth. I cannot recommend this dive boat.
