We spent an hour trying to access the tour but each time they sent us a link it took us to a Spanish shopping site. We eventually gave up trying to go on the tour.
Our guide was Dimitar; a great and knowledgeable tour guide He talked the good informative amount and pointed out areas of interest. Highly recommend this experience in Bulgaria
Fantastic tour of Plovdiv Old Town with a knowledgeable guide. Couldn’t recommend this tour any more. This is a must for when you travel to Plovdiv and Sofia
We have discovered a lot also interesting places with the suggestion from the guide but'll you need a car to get there.
Very good tour around wonders of Plovdiv.I am curious for history from late Roman Empire this tour takes me to far far way to where I cannot fathom there is so much history. The guide gave me all information for 3 hours than I can get for staying a month.
On the day of our tour, which we were very excited for due to circumstances, we got another guide who had several years of experience giving a walking tour of Plovdiv. The guide was very kind and modest and guided us through the old and new part. The tip we want to give is to tell it more anecdotally, to make it a story. Now it was too much like a Wikipedia tour. I and my son think a lot more can be gained from the tour, for example a small stop at a restaurant with a local delicacy (to pay for it yourself), legends from the area, stories to accompany the graffiti images, supporting story with images, etc. We walked through the city ourselves and were at the Waterklok (good tip) along the way we encountered a lot of street art.
This was a very interesting and varied walking tour with Dimitari as Marietta was unable to attend. Dimitari was excellent, he spoke English very well, had so much knowledge, not only about the history of Plovdiv but also about the current culture, life in Plovdiv and Bulgaria, and was so considerate to us being from the opposite side of the world. He was also very considerate about the hot temperature of the day and made sure we were kept in the shade and comfortable. This was an excellent, personal and professional tour that we thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to anyone visiting Plovdiv.
Marieta was a fantastic presenter on the history of communism in pLOVEdiv. Such a turmoil time for this nation and whole East Europe.Excellent tour, very balanced conversation, highly recommend!
