Matthew's Sedona Philosophy Private Hike is enjoyable as well as mind and eyes stimulating!

What an enjoyable afternoon with tour guide Matthew Goodwin! Matthew shared a lot of interesting information about Sedona and its fascinating history as we walked the Red Rock State Park. Matthew is also a philosophy professor at a local college. We enjoyed mind stimulating conversations during our 2 hours hike which was at an easy going pace. Matthew reached out to me the day before to confirm our private hike--which was professional and comforting. I highly recommend enjoying Matthew's Sedona Philosophy hiking tour! I sure did!

An Unforgettable and Unique Sedona Experience

Our Sedona Philosophy hike was over a month ago now and I'm still telling friends and family about my experience. It was definitely a highlight of our trip and created a perspective shift that I still carry with me. Hiking with Andrea was a gift that allowed my husband and I to slow down and reconnect with each other and with the land. She shared facts about how being in nature affects the mind, body, and spirit in so many positive ways, and we were able to soak up that positivity and see things in a new light. It was the perfect combination of moderate and easy hiking; silence, deep conversation, and laughter; and we saw some of the most incredible Sedona red rock vistas from a new viewpoint. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Sedona!

Operator response

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful reflection on your time with us. It is truly rewarding to hear that your hike with Andrea provided a lasting perspective shift and a chance to reconnect. We believe the land has a unique way of grounding us, and we are so glad Andrea could help facilitate that experience for you and your husband. Hearing that you’re still sharing these memories a month later means the world to us!

Exactly what I needed – depth, peace, and an unforgettable experience

This was hands down one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had in Sedona. I booked a private tour not really knowing what to expect, but it ended up being so much more than just sightseeing. We explored some beautiful spots (including Doe Mountain and Boynton Canyon), but what really stood out was the depth of the experience itself. My guide took the time to slow things down — we talked about life, purpose, philosophy, and even did some meditation. It felt grounding in a way that’s hard to describe. It wasn’t rushed, it wasn’t scripted, and it didn’t feel touristy. It felt human. The photos were amazing, the locations were stunning, and the overall energy of the day was calm and restorative. I came to Sedona needing a reset, and this tour delivered exactly that. If you’re someone who values meaningful conversation, reflection, and actually feeling a place instead of just checking off landmarks, I can’t recommend this enough. Worth every dollar.

Operator response

This is exactly what we love to hear. Sedona’s beauty is undeniable, but it’s the intentional slowing down—the meditation, the conversation, and the connection—that makes it meaningful. It’s wonderful to know you didn’t just see the landmarks; you felt them. Thank you for this recommendation and for reminding us all to value the human side of travel.

Do this first in Sedona

We had a lovely hike with Kent. It was so great to have such a knowledgeable guide to learn about the geography, plant life and history of Red Rocks Park. We also got some great tips for exploring on our own that we would not have found without Kent’s directions.

Operator response

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your hike with Kent. His deep knowledge of Sedona’s geology, flora, and history—and his passion for sharing it—truly bring the landscape to life. We're glad his insights helped you explore even more of the Red Rocks on your own. We hope to welcome you back on another hike or philosophical journey soon! Warm regards, Andrea & the Sedona Philosophy Team

What an experience!

This was a highlight of our time in Sedona. What we expected was a wonderful hike with glorious views. That was absolutely delivered. What we didn't expect was Andrea as our guide--both of Sedona and in conversation. Her ability to tie the beautiful vistas to larger themes was thought-provoking. My wife and I left the evening with our cups filled. Thank you to Andrea and Sedona Philosophy. Can't wait to come back. Julie and Allen

That connection between the landscape and life’s bigger questions is exactly what Sedona Philosophy is all about. We truly appreciate your kind words and can’t wait to welcome you back. Until next time!

So much fun! Do it!

What an amazing experience my team and I had on our philosophy hike with Andrea! Andrea was absolutely amazing from the moment we started. Giving us all the opportunity to introduce ourselves, explain our positions and our goals and dreams for not only our company but personal lives as well. She took the time to stop and answer questions, take pictures and keep us on track! 10/10 recommend booking a tour.

Operator response

Creating space for reflection—whether personal, professional, or philosophical—is at the heart of what we do, and it’s wonderful to know the hike offered just that. We're so glad you felt supported and inspired throughout the journey. Thank you for the recommendation—we’d be honored to guide you again anytime!

A spiritual hike

If you’re looking for more than just stunning views in Sedona - this is it! I had the privilege of being guided by Andrea, a philosopher turned trail guide with a gift for asking the kind of questions that gently stir your soul. What started as a hike quickly became something deeper—a walking meditation, a heart-opening conversation. Andrea didn’t just guide me through Sedona’s landscapes; she guided me through my inner terrain. Her wisdom, warmth, and presence made this experience unforgettable. If you feel even the smallest nudge to explore Sedona in a way that’s soulful and reflective, don’t hesitate. This isn’t just a tour—it’s a journey into yourself.
