It was amazing. There was so much sea glass and there is some shade. The boat was in great condition the guide was super friendly
We were picked up on time and taken to raft for the island. No life jackets were offered, but we didn't need them so that wasn't an issue. Island was as expected. Found some beautiful pieces to take home. Would definitely do this again!
This was something different to do while vacationing in Aruba. There’s TONS of sea glass, but you won’t find anything rare. We enjoyed it very much, but as a fan of sea glass hunting at home, my expectations for finding a blue, red, pink etc were low. It’s a very small area and is well picked over. So if you are happy for the experience, go for it! We are happy we went, and our host was wonderful!
5 minute boat ride to the island .There is alot of seaglass on this island .If you take your time and and dig in spots under the small rocks you will find the good colors .The guide was very nice and helpful to show us some good spots to work in ..Very fun day. Thanks
The sea glass was basically all green glass. The island is very small with very little area to explore.
Thank you for your feedback. Sea Glass Island is a naturally occurring sea glass destination, and the colors available vary depending on weather, tides, previous visitors, and natural conditions. Green glass is the most common color found worldwide, while blue, red, and other rare colors are significantly less common and can never be guaranteed. The size of the island is also accurately represented in our photos and tour description. The experience is not marketed as a large island exploration but rather as a unique opportunity to visit a remote location and search for sea glass that has accumulated over decades. While we understand that the experience did not meet your personal expectations, the sea glass colors and island size are natural characteristics of the destination and not something created or controlled by our company. We appreciate your visit and wish you safe travels.
From pickup at our hotel to drop off, we had fun! Seaglass Island by boat was a great way to spend a morning. We found some beautiful pieces of glass. Recommend!
Not worth the money! We paid for the transfer from our hotel. The driver drove very, very fast and erratic. Coming up on cars and slamming on the brakes or swerving around the car to avoid hitting it. Very unsafe! Once we got to the departure area, the boat was a small dingy that only held 6 or 7 people at a time. The motor kept cutting out because the driver said salt water. He had to keep restarting the motor. About 3 or 4 times each direction. No dock you load the boat from a breaker wall. Once on the island the digging tools were very old and rusty. Most of the glass is amber, green and white. Very expensive for what you get. I would not recommend this tour.
Thank you for your review. We would like to clarify several points for future readers. The transportation provider used for this excursion is a licensed, professional service that transports guests daily without incident. While we respect your perception of the drive, we have no record of any safety issue occurring during your transfer. The boat used to access Sea Glass Island is intentionally a small vessel designed for the shallow waters surrounding the island. The loading location and transfer method are exactly as shown in our photos and consistent with the nature of a remote island excursion. Guests are not transported via a large commercial ferry, nor is Sea Glass Island a developed tourist attraction with docks and facilities. Regarding the engine, marine equipment occasionally requires restarting due to environmental conditions. At no point was guest safety compromised, and all passengers were transported safely to and from the island. The sea glass on the island is naturally occurring. Green, amber, and white pieces are the most abundant colors, while blue and other rare colors are significantly harder to find. This is clearly part of the treasure-hunt nature of the experience and not something that can be guaranteed. Your review repeatedly references expectations that do not align with the type of excursion being offered. Sea Glass Island is a remote exploration experience focused on searching for sea glass in a natural environment. It is not a luxury attraction, developed beach club, or commercial amusement experience. While we understand that the excursion was not a good fit for your interests, the experience provided was consistent with the tour description and what thousands of guests have enjoyed before you. We wish you the best in your future travels.
Thoroughly enjoyed Sea Glass Island! The guides were very informative about the history of the island. They provided everything you need to ensure you had a successful experience. Highly recommend!
My sister and I had a memorable experience collecting sea glass on Aruba’s Sea Glass Island. We have been coming to Aruba for 30 years, and this is the first we heard of this excursion. It was great fun. Both driver and guide were exceptionally personable. And various colors of sea glass were everywhere. We are already thinking about our next trip there.
The shuttle driver and boat driver were both great; friendly, helpful. The experience was good, something I had always wanted to do. There were no amenities on the island, not even a port-a-potty. They did provide cold beverages. I do realize it is a nature experience and I do not regret doing it,but I probably wouldn’t do it again. $116/pp is a lot to pay for transportation.
Thank you for your review and for joining us on our Sea Glass Island tour. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience and that both the shuttle driver and boat captain made a positive impression. As you mentioned, Sea Glass Island is a remote, undeveloped island and part of its appeal is the opportunity to explore a unique natural location that remains untouched by commercial development. For that reason, there are no permanent facilities such as restrooms on the island. The cost of the excursion covers much more than transportation alone, including the boat transfer, guide services, refreshments, safety equipment, and access to a location that is otherwise difficult for most visitors to reach independently. We understand that the experience may not be for everyone, but we’re glad you were able to cross it off your bucket list and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
