Señor Tango : Located in the Barrio de Barracas, it is the largest tanguería of Buenos Aires (1500 people).. His show is similar to Moulin Rouge with a great display of artists and special effects which produces a great visual appeal. Towards the end, the presence of Ernesto Franco (who was D’arienzo’s bandoneon player) enhances the Show with an orchestra that recalls the music of D’arienzo; one of the orchestras with the best rhythm in the Golden Age of Tango. I had never gone to see Señor Tango until two of my new friends were in the cast. I have seen several other tango shows in BsAs and other places. Señor Tango is an amazing production. The staging, scenery, visual effects, etc are spectacular. The dancers are as good as any in town. The song Roxanne was a modern take on a tango, and my friend was Roxanne. My favorite part was the finale, "Don't cry for me Argentina" with unfurling Argentine banners, and all sorts of stirring effects. I enjoyed this show more than Tango Porteno. We did not have dinner, but had a dessert plate and a drink. The place was busy with people off cruise ships and they loved it also. Señor Tango himself comes on stage to sing a few songs in Spanish.
