Itinerary
The first stop will be at the picturesque village of Luss on the Banks of Loch Lomond. Here, I will give you a whole guided tour of the village which as many amenities such as cafes, toilets, gift shops and more.
We will stop off for a quick viewing of the Drovers inn, the oldest around ! The drovers has been open since 1705 and is said to be haunted by the infamous cattle drovers of the past who stopped here whilst herding Highland Cows to the markets in the south.
We will take in the magnificent waterfalls in Glen Falloch. I will guide you through a very short walk in Nature and woodlands which always makes for a great photo opportunity.
We will follow the West Highland Way throughout our adventure, Scotland's most popular long distance hike. I have completed this hike on numerous occasions therefor I will be able to stop along some spectacular vantage points along the way.
We will pass through one of not only Scotland's, but the UK's most spectacular wilderness. Sit back, relax and take in some thought provoking and atmospheric scenery as we approach Glencoe, there will be many great picture opportunities throughout this stretch.
Glencoe is a bottle neck of beauty. This is one of Scotlands greatest Glens. A glen is what we call a mountain pass. Years gone by, I have worked for tour companies that factor only one stop in here. Scotland does not get any better than Glencoe, and this is where I have hiked most of my life. Let me take you to some of the most enchanting spots, which I will decide on based on your personality. Glencoe has everything to offer - rugged mountains, waterfalls, white water rapids, glens, valleys and above all history ! I would like to take you to the famous Clachaig inn for lunch which allows you to further immerse yourself within the area.
We will stop off at a magnificent vantage point looking over to Castle Stalker. I will be able to give you a whole exterior tour of the Castle based on my extensive knowledge of this whole region.
We will stop off at the old Clan Campbell stronghold of Kilchurn Castle. I will be able to give you a whole exterior tour of the Castle based on my extensive knowledge of this whole region.
We will pass through the stunning town of Inveraray. Although this is marked as a "pass by without stopping" if this is somewhere you would like to spend some time in meandering around the great gift shops and sites, I will always be flexible to allow this.
Inveraray Castle is one of my favourites in Scotland. I would recommend you pre book a tour, which I can help you to arrange. If you choose not to prebook a tour, I can give you a full exterior tour based on my in depth knowledge from numerous visits and tours.
Finally, as we loop back towards Glasgow, we will make one final stop to add to the headache of beautiful photos we have collected all day ! Not a bad problem to have, but the only problem you will face touring with me.

If you’re considering a tour of the Scottish Highlands and Isle of Skye, stop looking and book Andy Kidd. I’ve traveled extensively and rarely visit the same place twice, so it takes something truly special to leave a lasting impression on me. Andy didn’t just show me Scotland—he helped me experience it in a way I never could have on my own. What sets Andy apart is that he isn’t simply a tour guide. He’s a true Highlander at heart, deeply passionate about Scotland, its people, its history, and its culture. His knowledge is remarkable, but what makes him exceptional is the way he brings everything to life. He’s a gifted storyteller, full of energy, humor, authenticity, and heart. Every conversation felt personal, every stop had meaning, and every day was filled with discoveries that went far beyond the typical tourist experience. Before booking, I researched many different guides and tour options. Choosing Andy was one of the best decisions I made during my trip. I booked a one-to-one tour, and the level of attention, care, and personalization was extraordinary. Yet I have no doubt that even in a group of twenty people, Andy would somehow make each person feel like he was speaking directly to them. He took me to fascinating places that most visitors never see and shared insights that only someone who genuinely loves this land could provide. By the end of the experience, he felt less like a guide and more like a friend. The three days I spent touring with Andy were among the most memorable travel experiences I’ve ever had. In fact, he’s one of the main reasons I would return to Scotland—a place I never expected to revisit. Whether you’re traveling solo, with family, or as part of a group, I cannot recommend Andy highly enough. If you want a tour that is personal, authentic, unforgettable, and full of the real spirit of Scotland, Andy is the guide you want by your side.
Absolutely the BEST tour guide and we loved our day with Andy seeing the wonder of the Highlands! Such fun driving and listening to Andy share his knowledge of the area and history of the people. He knew the best places to stop, walk, admire, and get that perfect picture to remember the moment and made sure we were enjoying it at our own pace. Mountains, valleys, waterfalls, moors, bridges, and castles-we saw it all and amazed at Andy’s ability to plan the day so perfectly. Bonus was the historic tavern stops where we really enjoyed experiencing the local culture! Can’t thank you enough Andy and great fun to have you in some of our pictures😊
We just spent the last two days with Andy as our guide of the Highlands and Glencoe. The knowledge, preparedness, and enjoyment of the tour, as delivered by Andy, was outstanding! I can’t imagine there’s a better guide out there - he has to be the best. If you’re wondering what guide to go with, Andy is your man.
My son and I spent the day with Andy touring the Highlands, with Glencoe as our main destination. This was part of a 12 day trip across 3 countries and one of the absolute highlights! Andy was friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the area, and incredibly accommodating to our needs. We can’t recommend him enough - don’t delay booking if he’s available! Marge Brooks
Hi Marge, I remember you guys well - thank you very much for the nice words. This goes such a long way for me as a new business. I hope to meet with you and your family again in the future, really nice people and you sent me home in a great mood !
My sister, 10 yr old nephew, and I had a very short stop in Scotland as our first trip. We took a leap of faith and booked with Caley Pines and I’m so glad we did. Wow what an amazing day! From my last minute booking till now days later we are still talking about it! Andy blended history with fun local and film facts in addition to weaving some details about our family heritage even with only sharing our family details the day of! The snacks and drinks provided were a bonus and hit the spot especially mid day. Andy was able to read us very well throughout the day and ask if we wanted less history or a break in chatting or anything we wanted to ask about. I would book again in a heartbeat with Caley Pines and encourage you to reach out to Andy and the team! Also ask if you don’t want to do one of the defined tours 1 he is open to working with you to customize a trip to be what you are looking for! Already starting to think of when we can go back with some additional family members and will include Andy and Caley Pines as part of it!!
Thank you so much ! You and all of your family are a total credit to each other and from the bottom of my heart really nice people. It was my honour to be in such great company for the day and this brought the best out in me. Thanks again guys - and I cant wait to cross paths again.
We had an incredible tour trip with Andy and truly can’t recommend him enough! As this was our first time in Scotland, Andy took us to places we definitely wouldn’t have found on our own like locks, waterfalls, small towns and a great historical lunch spot. One of our favorite moments was getting to feed the Highland cows and pick up coo souvenirs! Andy is a safe and efficient driver (which is huge as I get car sick on windy roads), and his sense of humor made the day even better. What we enjoyed most was learning more about Scotland, not only the historical context but also recent Scottish happenings and politics. We’ve already recommended Andy to multiple people since coming home, and when return to Scotland, we would book him again in a heartbeat!
Thank you so much Chelsea. You and your Husband were great crack ! I hope to share both of your company again in the future if I am lucky enough. Thanks again Andy
Andy is an awesome tour guide to experience a full authentic Scottish experience with! He had incredible things to show our family and was an awesome person!
Legend ! Thanks for the review :) All the very best - Andy
We booked a private tour with Andy Kidd during our European cruise last July/August, and it was without question the best excursion of our entire two-week trip. Andy picked us up and spent the day taking us to several incredible Scottish castles and scenic locations. From the moment we met him, he was warm, welcoming, and genuinely enjoyable to be around. He is extremely knowledgeable, but what really stood out was how engaging and entertaining he made the experience. His stories, historical insight, and sense of humor kept us interested all day long. Andy tailored the tour perfectly, never rushed us, and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying every stop. You could tell he truly cares about giving his guests an exceptional experience and takes great pride in what he does. If you’re visiting Scotland and considering a private guide, we cannot recommend Andy highly enough. This was a truly memorable day and a highlight we still talk about months later. Devon & Ramon
Thank you so much Devon and Ramon. Amazing people and great energy ! A tour that will live long in my memory. Thanks again guys Andy
The 4 of us (my sister, my mother and my daughter) went on an all ladies trip in summer of 2025. We had the pleasure of two private all days tours with Andy. We went on these tours knowing my 5 year old daughter and my 79 year old mom had different needs and likely this would be difficult to fulfill our expectations and keep us all entertained throughout. From the moment Andy picked us up to the moment he would drop us off - we were so pleasantly surprised at all that he delivered. He had thoughtful local snacks for us to try when he picked us up in his nice spacious van. He and my mom clicked right away, he had her up front so they could talk 1:1 as she is hard of hearing and a bit shy about it. When we got up close and personal to these amazing sites outside of the vehicle, he was able to engage and click with my 5 year old - playing tag or getting her a kids exploration packet at the castles. My sister and I - we asked candid questions about music and culture - he gave us all 1000 percent. He was so kind and friendly, it was an instant connection for all of us the vibe Andy gave. He shared historical and cultural tidbits - all while always making us laugh. If you are looking for a true Scot that will give you honest exposure to the beautiful historical sites, and breathtaking views, while being his friendly and kind self - well look no further - Andy is your guy.
Thanks a million !! Very nice words and I am glad I met you and your amazing family. Miss you guys - cheers again ! Andy
ANDY WAS THE BEST GUIDE WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! Personality, fun facts, great driving, lots of laughs, all the secret spots. If you do anything, book a private tour with him and engage with him. He literally made our trip phenomenal.
Thank you so much ! What a day we had - I laughed from start to finish. Thanks for the memories
