Great way to see the city

Beautiful views. We went in winter, which was stunning but would be 10x prettier in summer overlooking odori park fully in bloom

Sapporo TV Tower: an alternative Birds Eye view

Hi fellow international travellers. Well Sapporo has been very good to us in all sorts of ways including its people, excellent public transport, glorious food and its sights including towers and a Ropeway: this TV tower was a great addition, in that it looks as though many favourite the bigger similar touristy attractions for the views. We would say, include this smaller adventure in you itinerary: it might take less than an hour of your holiday time and it is worth the small price tag. You will travel up through its centre (feels a bit like you are in a cage for a bit with the open surrounds to view) and then come out to a 360 degree viewing platform enclosed by glass but with big panels to see through: really nice. This one does the job without any big touristy expectations: more for those like us, who like to experience the local culture & people. Was it worth the $$$: absolutely! Would we do it again: No, but only because it is not one of those sights you might see several times; except to say, if we had a few more days we would have paid again and gone at night. It is soooo central to Odori Park and it’s great food and views. We would rate this a Five Star, as it is a local gem! 😊 As we are avid long-time travellers, married, now over 65, fit & healthy, we know the value of these independent honest appraisals as reference points when planning a holiday abroad, as do our fellow travellers. Thanks, ALGreynomads

Great views on a clear day!

It is worth the price of admission to the Observatory Deck if the day is clear to view the surrounding area. Currently there is a 3D postcard of the Sapporo TV Tower that you can stamp by locating the six spots around the Sapporo TV Tower. Four of the spots to be obtain in order to complete the postcard, you will need to purchase the admission into the Observation Deck to obtain the stamps. It is a quick 30 seconds or so ride up to the Observation Deck and from there the views of the Odori Park, Susukino, and Sapporo Dome are so sights visible from the windows. There is a huge gift shop of many unique Japanese gift items to select from and an arcade on your way going back down. Great place for a view down in Sapporo!

Great 1st thing to do in Sapporo,

You don’t want to miss this!. It should be your first place you go in exploring Sapporo. It’s at one end of the park. The views are great. It gives you a great orientation.

Sapporo seen from above

It was worth having a general view of Sapporo and its mountains. At that time covered in ice that even reminded one of little bit, the Swiss Alps seen from Italy.
