Santorini: The Aegean Cooking Class at Ftelos Brewery

Good beer, good knowledgeable staff, good times with family, and now we can take a piece of the authentic culture back home with us.

What a fabulous time!! Chef Michael, and all the staff at Ftelos, were fantastic! The food we prepared was delicious, the beer was very good and the atmosphere is top notch! Highly recommended for a visit to Ftelos Brewery when on Santorini!!

We signed up for the cooking class at Ftelos brewery - thought it would be a group of people learning how to cook but it was just our family of four - so very personalized and intimate. Katerina was our chef. She was very attentive and professional. Had lots of good cooking advice about how to prepare, cook and present the dishes. We all had a chance to get into the kitchen and help cook the meal. At the end of our cooking class, we were invited to dine on the rooftop dining area and eat the dishes we prepared- which was carried out to the dining area for us. It was a lovely view and the food was delicious. Katerina came by towards the end of our meal and brought a freshly prepared dessert. None of the food we prepared was on their menu so we felt like we had a private menu tasting. It is first class and definitely worth doing.

Katarina was knowledgeable and fun to work with. The facility was awesome and welcoming. An excellent venue to explore Santorinian food

We had a cooking lesson with Katarina. She is very competent, friendly and helpful. We prepared a Greek dish together that we really enjoyed. A vegetarian variation was also possible upon request. Katarina gave us a lot of knowledge about the ingredients and preparation. We had a lot of fun. The location is very clean and beautiful. What we learned is really a great souvenir that we can take home with us. 😊

Very small group as this class happens multiple times a day only 3 people in my class group. Actual content of class was very informative, easy recipes to execute.

Our flight was delayed so we had an extra half day in Santorini and decided to take this cooking class on a whim- soooo glad we did! Everyone at the Brewery was so friendly and our Chef Stavros (Steve), was wonderful. He taught us so much about traditional Santorini cooking, and we were amazed at how beautiful and delicious the food was. This class is for all skill levels and abilities and I will definitely recommend this to everyone I know who is heading to Santorini!

Just like most cooking classes, the success will be a lot about who the chef is and who you are doing the course with. We lucked out with both. Steve (Greek, but that is his English name) was passionate, clear in his explanations and remained focus while we were chatting with a very nice family, well travelled and all foodies. The meal was really typical and made with local ingredients. We ended up cooking inside because of the weather but it did not make a difference. I particularly appreciated the fact that we were never pushed into buying anything from the brewery (the boutique is great and we bought stuff even before we started).
