Our captain was Nicholas. He took us to a nice quiet place for a swim that was near the hot springs, but away from the crowds. It was shallow enough that the water was nice, like early summer in a Muskoka lake (reference mostly for other Canadians). We went to the hot springs right after, which was long enough that dozens of catamarans had just left, so the timing was good. The water was a little smelly, and heavy with copper taste. Oh well, tourists do as tourists do. The water was a bit bumpy, so we went at a speed that wasn’t too fast, the 5 hrs goes by pretty quickly. We stopped by Captain Johns restaurant right on the water on the island Thirassia where there is very little development of hotels and such. It was very pretty, but Captain John’s was meh. Better to go to the port in Oia I would think. All in all, a really nice day on the water. When communicating with Santorini Boat Rental, they don’t really give you an abundance of information, but they are in the port, right by the boat launch in front of the only hotel. I think they dunk in the boat right before you are to meet up with them. Also, consider that you will get a fuel bill at the end of the trip. We just really went around the Caldera and back and the fuel was 130 euro’s. There are trade off’s between choosing a catamaran and this type of boat tour. The Catamarans are much more stable, so if it’s a windy day, rough waters, you will have a smother experience. The rental boat with Captain offers you complete flexibility, and privacy. Differing experiences. Getting out on the water was amazing.

An Unforgettable Santorini Charter Experience

What an incredible way to finish our trip in Santorini! From the moment we stepped onboard, Peter, Thalis, Olga and Iro made us feel so welcome and looked after. A special mention to Olga for the absolutely fantastic food — every dish was fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared. Thalis brought the whole experience to life with his mix of local history, storytelling and comedy, which made the trip both entertaining and memorable. What really stood out was how welcome they made our three-year-old daughter feel. Giving her bread to feed the fish was such a thoughtful touch and made her day. The whole crew created such a warm, relaxed atmosphere that it genuinely felt like we were on a private charter. The locations we visited were stunning, the timing at each landmark and swimming spot was perfect, and nothing ever felt rushed or overcrowded. An unforgettable experience and easily one of the highlights of our time in Santorini. Highly recommend this crew to anyone visiting the island!
