Description

A morning visit to one of Mallorca’s best-known weekly markets. The vibrant Santanyí market, where you can find a wide variety of products, including local products, artisanal foods such as cheese and sobrasada, crafts, textiles and much more. Fruit and vegetable vendor stalls frolic directly in front of the Old Town church, but you can see that the market action extends to small alleys and hidden corners, with boutiques, art galleries and many cafes along the stalls, from where you can watch from a comfortable seat the hustle and bustle of the market while enjoying a coffee or snack. A morning to explore Santanyí and its market at your own pace!

Nice market with a large selection but unfortunately very crowded.

The market in Santanyí is definitely worth a visit and is certainly one of the highlights of the region for many vacationers. The selection of handicrafts, local products, clothing, food, and souvenirs is large and varied. You can find many interesting stalls and stroll comfortably through the beautiful streets of the town. We also noticed the prices positively. Many products are offered at fair prices, and there are numerous regional specialties to discover. Specialties that can partially be enjoyed before Easter. However, the market has a small disadvantage: It is extremely popular. During our visit, it was so crowded that leisurely strolling became somewhat difficult. Instead of an idyllic market atmosphere, it felt somewhat hectic and stressful at times. Even finding a parking spot can become a test of patience, as many visitors come to Santanyí on market days. Nevertheless, we certainly understand why the market is so well attended. For the vendors, the large turnout is certainly positive and shows how attractive the offerings are. My conclusion: A beautiful market with a wide selection, fair prices, and many regional products. Those who arrive early and bring some patience will spend a successful morning here. The only downside is the large number of visitors, but this ultimately speaks to the quality and popularity of the market.

Unfortunately, the arrival/departure to the market was not what you would expect on a guided tour. The market worth seeing.

Unfortunately, the arrival takes more than an hour as many hotels are approached to take guests with us, in Palma we had to change buses - that took again! For German-speaking guests, a tape was played 1x briefly, there were no further explanations, no explanations return, again a tedious return journey with bus change! The market itself is wonderful, a lot of hustle and bustle, what to expect, the town itself really worth seeing.

Very nice and the people from the stalls very friendly

The precious market. I bought several pieces of clothing for my daughters and me in a stall where they had very nice women's clothes, the girl who attended us was called Maria and was very friendly and nice, advising us at all times. Next year we will return without hesitation.

Best Beach & Sightseeing

This was a fabulous excursion outside of the Palma city limit. We passed through several interesting towns that I wished we had time to stop in. The highlight of the trip, Playa de Muro, did not disappoint. Beautiful beach!
