I had a wonderful experience traveling from Medellin to see the colonial town of Santa Fe de Antioquia with Sara our guide who did an amazing job of both driving us and sharing with us the significance of the town and the bridge across the Cauca River which is an amazing feat of engineering! I would recommend taking this tour due to the history and scenery. I would recommend going with Sara who was excellent!
We had a wonderful experience with Alejandro, he came on time to pick up us, he was very knowledgeable about all the places and was listening to our opinions and needs, also he’s very friendly.
A fun day trip from Medellin. The town isn't large, but it's interesting to see the history. If you have a good guide, then you'll have a great experience. Our guide, Sara, was incredible. She was full of energy and had so much knowledge to share with us. We learned so much about the history, politics, and culture of Colombia. We had an incredible time much in thanks to her. Santa Fe is going to be notably hotter than Medellin, so be prepared for that.
I had such a wonderful experience on the Santa Fe de Antioquia tour, and I can’t recommend it enough—especially if you get Sara as your guide! I was traveling solo and staying just outside of Santa Fe without a rental car, so this tour ended up being the perfect way to explore the area comfortably and stress-free. Sara picked me up right from my hotel, and from the moment we started, she was incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and just genuinely fun to spend the day with. We visited the Western Suspension Bridge and explored the beautiful old town of Santa Fe de Antioquia. Along the way, Sara shared so much history and context—it really felt like I was learning things most visitors (and probably even some locals!) wouldn’t know. We also visited several beautiful historic churches and stopped by a lively local outdoor market, which gave a great feel for the culture and day-to-day life in the town. Another highlight was a stop at a jewelry shop featuring stunning gold and silver filigree pieces and emeralds—plus some amazing local honey that I couldn’t resist! One of my favorite unexpected moments was when Sara took me into a hotel with incredible libraries, including a collection of first printings of Don Quixote—such a unique and memorable experience. We wrapped up the day with a lovely lunch, and throughout the tour, Sara even took great photos for me to share with friends and family, which I really appreciated as a solo traveler. She also gave me fantastic recommendations for other tours to do next time I’m in Medellín, and I will absolutely be booking with her again. I didn’t do the optional hot air balloon (I chose sleep instead 😄), but even without it, the tour was completely worth it. If you’re looking for a personalized, informative, and genuinely enjoyable experience—this is it.
Alejandro was our guide on the Sante Fe de Antioquia tour. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable . Sante Fe is the old capital of Antioquia and is beautiful. We felt very safe. We highly recommend this tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Santa Fe de Antioquia with Erika. The city and scenery were beautiful. The city is very well-preserved and has a lot to offer for restaurants, cafes, and shopping. Erika took us through the history of the city and region. She was a wealth of knowledge, be it the architecture or prominent figures from the region. Erika had incredible recommendations every step of the way and always ensured we were looked after. I highly recommend this experience!
We had a wonderful day with Erika, who was very helpful to answer all our questions about Colombia & history. SantaFe is cute historical City, and the bridge is interesting. Walking was easy. Lunch is not included & guests can choose a restaurant or not to eat. Note on Wednesdays some shops & museums are closed, then one can enjoy a somewhat more quite walking tour !
Alejo was an excellent tour guide, he is intelligent and personable, had lots of interesting information, and we had a great day with him. He speaks fluent English and we were able to practice some Spanish with him. We loved the impressive suspension bridge, walking over the river and exploring such a beautiful area. Santa Fe is a great historical little town with friendly people and we enjoyed the day immensely.
We were lucky enough to spend another incredible day with tour guide Erika, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable days of our entire trip. We decided to add paragliding at the very last minute, and Andres, the owner of MedellinDay Trips, was incredibly understanding and helpful. He worked with us to seamlessly fit it into our itinerary on our final day, which we really appreciated. Erika picked us up directly from our hotel and, as always, brought her amazing energy, warmth, and knowledge. We started the day with a quick stop local coffee shop, which was the perfect way to ease into the day. From there, we headed out for paragliding—an absolutely unforgettable experience with stunning views. Erika made sure everything felt organized, smooth, and stress-free, which allowed us to fully enjoy the moment. After paragliding, we continued on to the beautiful colonial town of Santa Fe de Antioquia. Walking through its historic streets, admiring the architecture, and learning about its history made for a perfect contrast to the adrenaline of earlier in the day. Erika’s storytelling and insights really brought the town to life. Once again, Erika went above and beyond to make the day special, and the flexibility and care from Andres and MedellinDay Trips truly stood out. This day was the perfect ending to our trip, and we couldn’t recommend Erika, Andres, and their team more highly for anyone looking for authentic, well-organized, and unforgettable experiences in Colombia.
Sara, was our tour guide she is amazing. We learned so much about this beautiful historic colonial town, and its people.
