The service provided by the team at Sani Pass & Lesotho Private Tours was impeccable. From the very beginning of our conversations, even before we decided to book the tour, Angie was helpful and took the time to answer all of my questions. She also made all the necessary arrangements beforehand to ensure everything would go smoothly during the excursion. On the day of the tour, Sheldon met us promptly at 6:00 a.m. in the lobby of our hotel in Durban. He drove us comfortably to Underberg, where we changed vehicles and met the guide who would take us across the Sani Pass. During both the outbound and return journeys, Sheldon chatted with us, answered our questions, shared interesting facts, and was extremely friendly. We felt completely safe with him behind the wheel. In Underberg, we met Nathi, who was our guide and driver for the Sani Pass crossing. Nathi was also an excellent guide and driver throughout the trip. But the most surprising part was the thoughtful gesture that Angie and the team had prepared for us. I had mentioned to Angie that this tour was to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and that information certainly did not go unnoticed. As soon as we entered the second vehicle, we found not only blankets and water, but also delicious sweets in beautiful gift boxes, a congratulatory card, and even a bouquet of flowers! We were absolutely astonished. It was a level of care and thoughtfulness far beyond anything we could have expected. During a stop on the way up the pass, Nathi offered us tea and delicious biscuits. Once again, we felt incredibly well looked after. And to top it all off, when we reached the border with Lesotho, Nathi surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine and two glasses! We were able to toast our first wedding anniversary in the most unforgettable place imaginable. The visit to the Basotho village was fascinating, and the lunch we enjoyed at the Highest Pub in Africa was delicious. The return journey was just as pleasant as the trip there. Up to this point, I haven't mentioned that the weather was TERRIBLE that day. Visibility was completely compromised. Without a doubt, if it hadn't been for the exceptional service provided by Sani Pass & Lesotho Private Tours, the day could easily have been a disaster—an expensive, exhausting, and wasted excursion. But Sheldon, Nathi, and Angie managed to give us a truly memorable experience despite the challenging weather conditions. We will always be grateful. Thank you, and please keep up the excellent work!
We are shuttle and tour company that booked with Angie and team trust me best service. My every question was answered replied within minutes at anytime of the day or night, best services My clients thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Angie and team.
The tour to Sani Pass was exceptional! All guides were excellent. Angie was the one who organized the whole tour with practicality and efficiency. Angie was an angel! We love everything. There's nothing to complain about! We had an amazing experience!
This was an amazing trip, starting at 6am in Durban where our driver, Paul, took us with haste to Undarberg. From here, our very able 4x4 driver, Nathi, took us through Heimville and on a three-hour climb of Sani Pass where we were treated to the 'South African massage' on the bumpy gravel road as promised. Nathi sorted all of our passport stamps, allowing us to speed through border controls where other tours operating on the same day had to wait for quite a while. At the top of the pass, we were treated to the lovely hospitality of a local villager, trying phutu, spinach and mutton in a memorable lunch experience. All in all, this is a trip that shouldn't be missed, with first-class treatment from start to finish. Bonus points for the cookies, coffee and tot of whiskey (for the guests only!) on the ascent to break things up.
We had a group of 10 that wanted to see Lesotho during our group trip to South Africa. Angie was easy to coordinate with and really responsive to messages. Greg and Nathi were terrific guides who kept things running smoothly on a gorgeous but busy winter day. The trip, despite being up a rocky mountain pass, felt like a luxury experience. The views were incredible, the treats were delightful, and the bread at the Basotho village was delicious. I'd recommend this tour to others.
Prompt response from Angie who arranged the tour last minute for us smoothly. Dick was really friendly and picked us up on time. Transferred to our 4x4 up the sani pass which was comfortable. They prepared blankets, tea and cookies for our trip. David was an excellent guide who is knowledgeable and help us spot various wildlife like zebras, baboons and eland during our drive. Great team! Highly recommended.
The day was absolutely fabulous! We started the early morning from Durban and immediately our guide, Dick, was welcoming and friendly. He was very knowledgeable and made the trip to Underberg comfortable, fast, and pleasant. That is where we then met our guide for Sani Pass, David. The transition was seamless! The moment we opened the door to the 4x4 we were greeted by the most amazing presentation. There were goodies and a welcome package to make our honeymoon special! Once on the road, David was able to answer any and every question we had. Beyond the breathtaking views, we were amazed by the freshly prepared tea time on a stop as we wound our way through the pass. The red velvet cookies were AMAZING! While in Lesotho, we learned a bunch about the Basotho people and had the privilege to be welcomed into their home. We enjoyed the bread prepared for us greatly before heading to the highest pub in Africa. While it was a very windy day at the top, we were quickly welcomed around the fires to enjoy a great lunch. The way back down to Underberg, then back to Durban, took no time at all because we felt like we had known David and Dick for ages, passing the time quickly. They went truly out of their way to make the day one of the best on our holiday. If you want a cookie-cutter experience to Sani Pass - this is not the trip for you. However, if you want a private, amazing day...look no further! We cannot recommend this trip enough.
The tour was incredible and Dick and David my drivers were super professional, ontime funny, and made stops where needed for photos and to explain the history! super informative tour. I would recommend even for a solo traveler. Angie was a great communicator too.
Excellent tour! Both our transport driver from Durban and our tour guide for Sani Pass were excellent and taught us so much about the local culture and even quite a bit of history about South Africa. The experience itself of driving up Sani Pass is absolutely gorgeous and special, it should not be missed. Plus the homemade cookies we got along the way to the top were a huge bonus! Would book with these guides again.
I can’t recommend this tour enough! Angie was very quick to respond to any messages and questions I had. Elizabeth and Colin picked us up from our hotel and spoke very knowledgeably about the history of Durban and the surrounding areas as we drove to the drop off point to start the Sani drive. Greg welcomed us with waters, blankets incase it got cold, home made muffins and cookies as well as some juice. The Sani Pass itself is a very challenging drive and Greg did an AMAZING job driving it. You could tell our safety (and his) was a top priority. He was very knowledgeable about the pass, the Lesotho people and their culture. The highest bar in Africa was a great stop with very good food and a wide variety of drinks. The views were stunning as well as the experience of the drive. If you are considering doing this tour, I would 1000% recommend using Angie and Greg.
