Introduction to amazing Argentinian cusines beyond Steaks and Malbec.

Our San Telmo food walk guide was Rodrigo. It was too much food, we could only sample the last meal during our Lunch. We met Rodrigo at their office sharp at 11 am. He served Mate and explained the food culture in BA and how it evolved. It is so important to understand this aspect of the city to appreciate the Food walk. He took us to El Federal bar first for breakfast. Got introduced to Soda Pop and Vermouth. Followed by a food platter to blow you away. After polishing off the whole platter we head to Mafalda square and he shares the importance of Mafalda in BA history. We stopped at a restaurant making fresh Empanadas with amazing fillings. We then head over to San telmo Market and then sit down for lunch at another Notables. We enjoyed our tour, the Awesome variety of food and Rodrigos company and explanation of the various topics connected to the places we saw. We loved it.

Discovering San Telmo even beyond food!

We made the walking tour with Fabian, a guide who could really transmit us his passion for the district of San Telmo and its food. It starts with a deep dive on the maca, the Argentinian variant of thee. And then you visit the local market with a first stop for an very local aperitif with cheese and meat delicatessen. On the way he explains also very well the history of this bohemian part of Buenos Aires enriched with plenty of anecdotes and funny stories easy to remember. No surprise at all that empanadas were also part of the tasting. The tour is concluded with a very copious (obviously) meat (obviously) lunch in a restaurant mostly frequented by locals.

Very personable and private foodie tour.

This was just a delight for my husband and I. Sylvia is the owner of the travel Company and she provided us with excellent communication before we arrived. Once there Sylvia welcomed us with a hug and asked us about our additional Plans And offered great advice for us, as tourists to her country. Our tour guide was Leticia and just a delight. We spent 4 hours together and left each other as friends. Leticia really gave us great history of the foods we tried and made sure we were well fed and taken care of. We actually skipped dessert because we were stuffed. I love food tours and this one was exceptional and the best way to see where and what the locals eat.

Stuffed in San Telmo!

We had a really great afternoon exploring some of San Telmo's best with Rodrigo on a private tour that they facilitated very last minute for us after two cancellations by other companies. Four hours flew by as we tried maté at their headquarters, tried dried meats and cheeses, tortilla, and a local drink at an historic bar and restaurant, ate empanadas on the sidewalk, and finished off with delicious barbeque and wine. I would highly recommend this company and Rodrigo, with whom we chatted with about numerous topics, not just about the food. Thank you for a great final day in Buenos Aires!
