Wonderful insight into an Uzbek family

For us, it's more of a wonderful insight into a very friendly Uzbek family than a cooking class. We ate dinner with the whole family and were able to chat in English with Akram.

We had a fantastic time on the Samarkand Local Family Cooking Class and Siyob Bazaar Tour! This was our second tour with Akram — truly a gem of a person. He guided us through the vibrant Siyob Bazaar and then welcomed us into a local home where we cooked a delicious traditional meal: mutton pilov, shashlik kebabs, fries, and fresh salads. It was an authentic and heartwarming experience that gave us a real taste of Uzbek culture. Highly recommend this tour and Akram as a guide!

The Most Unique Tour Experience in Samarkand

This was one of the most authentic and unforgettable tours I’ve ever taken. Without this experience, it's impossible to truly understand the spirit of Samarkand. Akramjon and Rushana welcomed me into their home and taught me all the secrets of making traditional samsa and plov. They also explained the different varieties of plov and shared wonderful stories about local life. Their warm hospitality, along with the kindness of Bibisora, Yusufjon, and Alimardon, made me feel like part of the family. Absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Samarkand!

This was truly the most unique tour I’ve ever booked. An absolute must for anyone wanting to truly understand Samarkand. Together with Akramjon and Rushana, I had the rare opportunity to learn all the details of making traditional samsa and plov. They also explained the different types of plov and shared many insights into local life. A warm thank you to the whole family, including Bibisora, Yusufjon, and Alimardon for making me feel so welcome. Highly recommended!

Juicy Kebabs and flavourful Pilov in a local house.

Ok.. so this was really really fun.. Kids enjoyed a lot too. It was cooking class organised in Akramanov's home. Being a true local from Samarkand he guided us with how the locals shop in Siyob Bazaar and then how local Pilov is cooked at his home with some juicy Kebabs and Fries (kids wanted) What a heart warming family and fun filled day.
