Itinerary
Start the tour with a pick up from centrally located Salta hotels at 7:00am.
Begin your journey to Purmamarca, and while en route, you will complete a city tour.
Arrive to Purmamarca, one of the traditional towns, to visit the Seven Colors Hill. Take time to admire the beauty of this naturally colorful mountain range.
The unforgettable sight here, however, lies at the end of the road, looming over town: Cerro de los Siete Colores (Seven Colors Hill), with striated hues ranging from cream to green to a deep plum.
Afterwards, climb more than 4,000 meters over sea level by Cuesta de Lipán, where the curves of the mountain enhance the environment's beauty.
Travel down to the Large Salinas to admire the dazzling white landscape and its large extension contrasting with the blue of the sky. Visit the salt workers and observe their handicrats, including the pools from which they extract salt. The white and shiny salt of Salinas Grandes, also known as the Great Salt Flat, has an inviting feel.
By the end of the day, the tour will finish returning to your hotel.

Time of pick up is later than the quoted. The drive/guide does their very best to accommodate everyone

Very well-honed tour, competent and dynamic guide, excellent driver, suggested restaurant: quite correct.. A WOW Salinas Grandes and Puarmamarca
CONS: - Don't pay the absolute bogus charge on the eastside of the flat to go onto it. The only thing you get you can't on your own is a picture of the sign. - It's "one and done" in terms of what to do there and what you can see. PROS: - If you have a car, you can do everything on your own on the westside of the flat. - It is very cool to see, especially if you are not able to go into Bolivia.
Really great day out. Maru was an excellent guide, full of energy and very clear with her explanations. It was high season so a lot of tourists around but that’s to be expected.
Incredible, wonderful place. Landscapes that I never imagined. If you can, don't miss it. The guides are great. They take photos that look professional
I would highly recommend this tour. I was apart of a small group or just myself, one other person, and our tour guide. This experience would not have been nearly as enriching without the amazing tour guide as I was able to ask any questions that I had and I was always given a thorough answer. This trip was definitely one of the highlights of my month spent in Argentina.
Purmamarca was really cool to see, we got to stop and spend a couple hours there because of the road delay. The salt flats were good for pictures. The tour itself is a bit too long to do from salta city. We had issues because of rain (which is no one’s fault) but our pickup was 2 hours late we weren’t picked up until almost 9 (we were told 7-7:30) so we didn’t get home until 10pm and it advertised for to be back for 5. I wouldn’t do this unless you have nothing going on the next day. Also way payed more for an English guide because our Spanish is not very good and she only spoke in English once in a while, we didn’t get any information on how the salt flats formed or anything. If I could turn back time I would have just booked a Spanish guide with a local company for a fraction of the price. But the sights were cool !

This route is unique, exclusive for lovers of road trips, the salt flats are something not to be missed when visiting Salta. The transportation was very safe, the driver was very focused and our guide was very friendly.
Of course the views are incredible and we took a lot of photos, what I didn't understand is why you have to pay to set foot on the Salinas. They talk to me about native peoples.....in my opinion it is just commerce. They take us there, on a PAID excursion and we must continue paying to step on them. EVERYTHING COLDLY CALCULATED as if we tourists were all rich or simply foreigners. I do not belong to an indigenous people but I am a second generation of ARGENTINES. !Pity....
Pamela was super, she explained also every information in english ! Lots of stops along the way to take some pictures, use the restroom and enjoy the view.
