Don’t book this tour expecting private guide. Juan was excellent for the city portion five stars. But only helped book taxi to park guell and sangrada familia. Those two most important sites guide not included. Park guell guide is needed if you want to understand anything as audio and map are worthless. Sagrada Família audio is good, but douse not answer questions. So book three separate private tours to get what you paid for and want. Suggest going elsewhere to ensure better experience than what I had for this tour expecting private
Thank you for your feedback. We respectfully disagree with your characterization of the experience. Juan is one of our most experienced and highly rated guides, providing far more than transportation assistance. The use of audio guides at Park Güell and Sagrada Familia is clearly stated in the tour description. These audio guides are very comprehensive and provide detailed information throughout the visit. Guests seeking live official guided visits inside these attractions can choose our upgraded option, which includes official licensed guides at a higher price.
Incredible tour detailing the rich history of Barcelona and Spain. Our guide, Alan, was a wealth of knowledge. He provided a detailed history of the area while taking us to lesser known places sharing not only historical facts but also how the history shaped the culture of the city in modern times. He catered our tour to what we were interested in and provided excellent recommendations on additional sites to see and tours to experience. He clearly knows this city and the rich history it has to offer.
I needed to make changes to the timing of my reservation, as we were on a cruise ship that was departing before the tour was officially over. Since it was a private tour, I thought we had some flexibility. Local Cool Tours never responded. Over 3 weeks I left multiple emails, calls with voicemails, WhatsApp calls and texts, and even asked Viator to help me contact the company. Viator called and emailed the company and no response. (The company identified itself on its voicemail, so I know I had the correct number). When we arrived, we found it was not a completely private tour, as the tickets to Sagrada Familia were actually a small group tour at 5pm. When I asked to have the order of the tour changed, the guide's office (glad she could reach them) said they couldn't do anything. The local guide, Jennifer, was wonderful and had an abundance of knowledge about everything related to Gaudi. She knew what to see, in which sequence, especially for our teen grandchildren, and lunch was great. The included taxi rides were just that, and she accompanied us to meet the guide at Sagrada Familia. After security, we entered the church and were only able to see it for 20 minutes before we needed to take a taxi to the cruise port, which got us there 15 minutes before the all aboard time. I should have canceled and found a different tour, but this private Gaudi-focused tour with Park Guell and Sagrada Familia was just what we wanted the grandkids to experience. I am a travel advisor, and I will not use this tour operator again. On our way to meet the guide, I did find an email with her phone number, which she answered right away. I missed that earlier, because had I been able to reach her, I would've canceled and reserved a different tour. But every tour operator must be accessible and able to assist if the guide can't be located or if there are questions about the tour. I would not reserve this tour for Barcelona ship departures before 9:00pm.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry your experience did not fully meet your expectations. Our tour description clearly advises cruise passengers to carefully consider the tour duration and their ship's departure time before booking. We have also reviewed our records and did not receive any messages or requests through the Viator messaging system prior to the tour. As this was a long experience with timed entries to major attractions, the itinerary could not be modified on the day. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed Jennifer's guiding and her knowledge of Gaudí, and we appreciate your kind words about her.
Excellent experience and wonderful guide. We were very pleased with the amount of stops and how personable the guide was! We loved our experience!
A fabulous tour! Our guide, Milena, was amazing and an excellent resource on the history and background of the city and Gaudi. Would highly recommend to all!
Alan, our guide, was excellent. Very kind, great knowledge, and professional. Excellent experience!!!
This was one of the best tours I've ever done through Viator. HIGHLY recommend. From the tour guide to the actual sites that we saw it was amazing and well worth the money.
If you’re looking for a tour that goes beyond the typical tourist experience, book a tour with Milena. From the moment we met her, she felt more like a friend showing us around her hometown than a tour guide following a script. Of course, we saw Barcelona’s iconic landmarks and learned the fascinating history behind them, but what made this tour so memorable was that Milena also showed us the real Barcelona—the neighborhoods, hidden corners, local favorites, and how everyday people actually live. Those personal insights made the city come alive in a way you could never get from a guidebook. Milena is hip, fun, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about her city. She tailored the tour to our interests, answered every question, and made the entire experience relaxed, engaging, and full of laughter. If you want more than just sightseeing and want an authentic, unforgettable experience, I can’t recommend Milena highly enough. She was one of the highlights of our trip to Barcelona, and I would book her again in a heartbeat.
Milena, our guide, was the perfect mix of knowledgeable, hip, and genuinely fun. From the moment we met her, it felt less like we were being led around by a tour guide and more like we were spending the day with a local friend who couldn’t wait to show us her favorite city. Of course, we saw Barcelona’s iconic landmarks and learned the fascinating history behind them, but what made this tour unforgettable was everything in between. Milena took us beyond the tourist attractions and gave us a glimpse into how locals really live—the neighborhoods, hidden streets, local favorites, and the little details that bring the city to life. We left feeling like we had experienced the real Barcelona, not just checked off a list of sights. Milena was warm, engaging, and incredibly personable, with the perfect balance of history, culture, and fun stories. The hours flew by, and by the end of the tour we felt like we’d made a new friend. If you want an authentic, memorable, and genuinely enjoyable way to experience Barcelona, book this tour. It was hands down one of the highlights of our trip.
We had a great time! Andy was an excellent guide; very personable, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Would highly recommend this tour and him as a guide!
