The ksar Aït Ben Haddou is a village that has different Kasbahs and earthen houses classified as universal heritage by UNESCO. My Ait Ougaram family and a family that lives in the old ksar where our Kasbah (Kasbah tebi) has been renovated. The objective of the renovation and to give life to the heritage heritage of the family and to encourage other families to return to live in the ksar and to open to visitors the authenticity and the tradition of the desert caravans which have always been welcomed at the Kasbah. This allows us to give life to the village and preserve it for the next generations and achieve sustainability for universal architectural heritage creating cultural tourism in the region. Itinerary
After our meeting at Kasbah porte Ait Ougaram, we will start with the visit of the Kasbah Ait Ougaram and learn about the different construction methods and the Berber architecture of the region. We will have a detailed history about Kasbah legacy of 400 years of generation explanation about different symbols and sign on Kasbah towers.
We will cross the passage of the Kasbah towards the rest of the ksar Ait Ben Haddou and will arrive towards the place where the films like ''Gladiator'' ''Game of trances'' were filmed. We will also enjoy a global view of the village from the Hill in front of the village. (tourirt N’ait mraw )
We will cross the different alleys of the ksar to arrive at the collective attic. (old banking system) Passing through the village mosque and the Jewish Synagogue The higher area of the Ksar Agadir or collective granary gives an overall view of the valley.
We will go down to Kasbah Ait Ougaram to drink tea with my family.

We enjoyed seeing inside the Ksar, and walking through the medina and Kasbah and learning about the history of Ait Ben Haddou. Highly recommended a guided tour rather than just walking through the city yourself. Our guide lives in the city, born and bred, and knew a lot about the history of the place and its people. It brought it all to life for us.
The tour guide Hassane is from a local family who live in the Kasbah. They have very rich history and Hassane speaks very good English. He always helped out and even helped me with taxis and fares. Tea was very nice and the houses very beautiful with the interior all handmade. They still do lots of traditional things and the views are beautiful. The area is also very clean and the families in the area all know eachother. They are all very friendly and Hassane is incredibly knowledgeable, as he himself also maintains the Kasbah. Very amazing tour guide and very interesting trip. The family aspect is very cosy and all the families there are nice. I hope to come again and meet Hassane soon one day.
