Aurora Train Experience – A Unique Northern Lights Journey in Finnish Lapland Your journey begins at Rovaniemi Railway Station, where your Rovaniemi Insider guide will welcome you and lead you aboard the Aurora Train. From the moment you step inside, you’ll be immersed in a warm, festive atmosphere. With a drink in hand, you’ll settle into a comfortable ride through Lapland’s enchanting forests and snowy landscapes.
The train will take you on a 1.5-hour journey to Kemijärvi, the northernmost city in Finland.
Upon arrival, you’ll step outside to admire the stunning views of frozen lakes and snow-covered scenery. To complement the experience, you’ll be served traditional Finnish Christmas beverages and seasonal snacks.
From there, the Aurora Train continues toward Misi, one of Lapland’s best spots for Northern Lights viewing. Here, far from any light pollution, you’ll enjoy the breathtaking silence and the crisp winter night sky. With a bit of luck, the Aurora Borealis will appear in all its glory. Our attentive train driver will watch the skies throughout the journey and stop the train whenever the lights are visible—giving you the perfect opportunity to witness this natural wonder.
