Ambra was amazing!! Knowledgeable and pleasant, great at giving you what you want, chatting all about life in Copenhagen. I can’t speak of her highly enough! Communication from tour company was not great. The Round Tower is closed but they are advertising tours to it. Then I got vague communication about changing to a walking tour, no reply for hours when I questioned them. Finally, the morning of the tour I got confirmation that Rosenborg Castle was indeed part of the tour. It’s the main reason I bought this tour. Very strange experience with the tour company.
We actually did not go in (they were sold out for the day) but toured the outside and the gardens. Nice way to spend an hour or so.
Thank you for your review! We’re glad to hear that even just exploring the exteriors and gardens made for a pleasant experience. We hope you’ll have the chance to return another time to see the interiors as well — they’re well worth a visit!
The round tower is a 17th century observatory and is a cheap way to see the skyline of Copenhagen. There is a circular winding walkway up to near the top, with the final part a short stretch of stairs to get to the deck to the gorgeous views across the city. A great, short attraction that has a fast queue line and can turn up and pay on the door, no pre booking required.
The round tower is absolutely worth a visit. 40DKK was a bargain. The walk on the sloping path is very manageable, with a short flight of stairs at the end. Traffic is managed by a simple light system so the viewing platform Is not overcrowded. There are also three small museum displays on the way up. My adult son is scared of heights but found this manageable as there is no sheer drop at the top. And yes, we could see all the way to Sweden
Worth a visit and included on the Copenhagen card. To go up the tower you climb a round slope which is quite easy but long. The final part is made of steps controlled by a traffic light system which works well. The views at the top are fantastic and can see 360 views of Copenhagen. Would be lovely on a warm day as was freezing !!
A round tower, the clue is in the name, it uniquely uses a spiral ramp instead of steps to wind its way to the top. It’s a pleasant enough experience although one individual was recording video on their way up which I imagine would make for a very dull clip when they load it onto social media. At the top there is a 360 view which on a fine day would be quite exhilarating. Unfortunately it was a dull January day and it was freezing so I just stood around looking miserable while my other half took the pictures. I could wait to get back down to warm up. Perishing! Interestingly the last section is via narrow stairs and so to avoid congestion between those wishing to go up and those wishing to return downstairs there is a stair traffic light, perhaps unique, which directs the queue to ascend or descend accordingly. It works intuitively and with the famed Danish adherence to public conduct works perfectly. A worthwhile visit unless you are sensitive to the cold.
