Rotterdam 2-Hour Walking Tour | Discover The City With A Local

Description
Join us on a 2-hour walk through Rotterdam and experience the contrast between its postmodern architecture and devastating history. Starting as a fishermen's village 800 years ago, the city quickly grew into the Netherlands' most important hub for transport and major cruise ships. On 14 May 1940, the city centre was bombed by the Nazis. Showing the town’s true resilience, Rotterdam was rebuilt from its ashes into one of Europe’s most impressive skylines. Our guides are expert storytellers and are from the city, ready to engage with great stories about the city's past and modern-day culture. Additionally, we will advise what places to visit, where to wine & dine and what tourist traps to avoid.

Itinerary
Our tours starts & ends at the marvellous Market Hall, located close to station Blaak. Visit the hall before or after the tour for gourmet food and great souvenirs, before you head into the surrounding city centre.
The 15th century basilica is one of the few remains from before the WWII city bombing and remains an important landmark for the city's history, today it serves as a great place for events.
On our walk we will take you along some of the city's most awe-inspiring sites, such as the peculiar Cube Houses and the important port of Leuvehaven. Step away from the tired tourist track and into the streets of Rotterdam, discovering quirky street art, hidden gems and imposing skyscrapers.
Although Rotterdam lacks a true city centre, we will show you some of the streets where the best restaurants and cafes are located. Let us take you onto the main street to show you where the best wine bars, brown cafes & exotic eateries are located.
The Cube Houses are amongst the most peculiar buildings that can be found in the city. The houses offer a great photo opportunity and you can even visit one of the houses (admission €3) as the tour ends nearby.

Sarith is a great tour guide.
Very interesting and informative. I would not recommend this to anyone with mobility issues as it is quite fast-paced.

Excellent tour of Rotterdam Triangle city
Paul was a very nice and experienced guide who shared a lot of insider information and also involved the group. It's a shame that he doesn't receive any of the fees from the booking through TripAdvisor.
The tour was interesting and informative and our guide, Paul , was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed it.
