Continue to Pienza, the charming Renaissance village famous for Pecorino cheese, where you'll enjoy a seasonal lunch with beautiful Tuscan views (indoors during winter months, bad weather, and always on Mondays). In the afternoon, discover a prestigious Brunello di Montalcino winery with a guided visit of the vineyards and cellars, followed by a premium wine tasting. Travel comfortably throughout the day in a premium minivan with an English-speaking driver before returning to Florence station for your train back to Rome. For operational reasons, the order of visits between Montepulciano and Montalcino may vary.

Itinerary
Head to Roma Termini train station and board the bullet train (economy) to Florence on your own (we’ll send the tickets the day before departure). Train is departing at 6:40AM, please, arrive 15 minutes earlier. If you’d like to stay in Florence at the end of the tour, you’re welcome to bring your luggage and store it in our van. Just let us know a few days in advance.
Once you arrive at Florence train station, exit through the main entrance, turn right, and meet our driver and minivan in front of the ODS store.
In Montepulciano, you’ll be guided through a fascinating historic cellar known as “The Underground City,” located beneath a traditional local wine shop. At the end of the visit, you’ll enjoy a tasting of local wines and regional food specialties.
Arrive in Pienza and enjoy a delicious 3-course meal, including wine and water, served in a charming garden with a stunning view over the Val d’Orcia (available from April to October). During the colder months, lunch will be served indoors in a cozy setting. After lunch, enjoy some free time to explore the lovely town of Pienza at your own pace—wander through its historic center, take in the breathtaking viewpoints, and visit the renowned Pecorino cheese shops.
The Montalcino stop includes a visit to a renowned family-owned winery. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel less like a visitor at a workplace and more like a guest in their home. You’ll learn all about the prestigious Brunello di Montalcino — from vineyard techniques and the winemaking process to aging methods — and, of course, how to appreciate it through a tasting of different vintages.
