NOT as expected or as per photos. This place is about other close down. No staff, no golf balls. They were practically washing two balls as a time, and we have to keep running for more. signage and course needs cleaning and repairs in all areas. Please find another place, as this one is not the one you want to spend the time or the money... and leave with a bad experiences and memories of your vacation.
We will trust the previous reviews and bookings for Black Iguana course over this obviously bitter and misguided post or review. You’re obviously trying to bad mouth the location for some other grievance or issue you had on your trip, just to be spiteful. You even reported having a great experience with the golf pro and driver. See you next time. Take care!
Very challenging par 3 course , one of a kind , beautiful scenery , host was very nice , everything included drinks, clubs , balls , golf cart . The jungle ate most of our balls !! Would definitely recommend !!!
Very cute course making a comeback. For what it is and cost, we loved it. Manager was so cool and accommodating. Nice diversion from the beautiful water, snorkeling, diving, etc. This little course will test your short iron tee accuracy for sure. Greens and tees are a little rugged so if you're a country club snob go to Wailea and pay 5--10X more. They bend over backward; ride each way, clubs, cart, green fee, balls, tees and a drink.
Due to the rain in the area we could not play the Black Iguana course as scheduled but Viator move my group to Black Pearl golf Course. It was easy to meet the taxi driver that drop us off. We enjoy the course but it was extremely wet.
Actually Detour Roatan upgraded and moved all golf tours that day, including yours. Glad to hear you folks enjoyed your excursion.
We were upgraded to the Black Pearl as there was some construction happening at the Black Iguana. This was outstanding, loved the course, Got to see more of the island. Can’t say enough, tough and beautiful exactly what we were looking for.
Thank you Jordan! We look forward to seeing you folks in the future again. Safe travels home!
There was confusion with pick up time between what we were told, the driver was told & even tee time at golf course. It did all work out, but was a rough start.
It is a 9 hole short course, exclusively par 3, the shortest 30 meters, the longest 115 meters. The game wasn't really worth it. In the clubhouse there are old balls to borrow.
Reiner it's clear you were trying to book the Black Pearl par 5 course and you accidentally booked the Black Iguana 9 hole, par 3 course. Thank you!
Our family was staying in West Bay at Naboo resort so my son and I took in 2 rounds of golf at Black Iguana Golf Club. What a nice treat. The staff member picked us up and dropped us back at our hotel. The vibe is very relaxing and not at all stressful (theme of the island). Play at your own speed. My son even shot his very first birdie on the third uphill hole so it was definately my highlight of the day. Each hole is uniquely challenging, especially the bonus 10th hole over the pond. Everything was provided by the club including balls, tees, clubs and the cart. Afterwards, we enjoyed a relaxing drink in the open air clubhouse to recap our play. We are returning to West Bay this month so looking forward to playing again at Black Iguana.
Horrible course. Played a few holes and they canceled because earlier rain made the cart paths too dangerous. Tour provider was fine, course was terrible.
We golfed the Black Iguana 9 hole course! The course is challenging and untraditional! It’s a good 45 minute drive from the cruise port and about 1/2 mile walk to exit cruise port to meet driver for transportation. Driver was late picking us up for the excursion however we were able to get in touch with the excursion company (Detour Roatan) with an assurance that he was on his way! The next time we are in Roatan we will try the Black Pearl course as it is closer to the port and a traditional 18 hole course.
