Guides are knowledgeable and helpful. They make the experience lots of fun. The Zipline is the best!
When we exited the gate, it was incredibly difficult to locate our tour guide. She was sitting amongst a bunch of others and did not have a sign with our name on it or the tour company name. She then said to follow her and she was going to take us to our excursion so we started walking. And walking… When they said “transportation included” they didn’t tell us it was the ‘Nike express’ 😬🤣. Finally we walk into an area and were told we were there. It was very crowded and took a bit to get our wristbands. She led us to the monkey/sloth area which was very crowded. We ended up just walking past all the cages and looking briefly at the animals but did not try to enter cages for pictures because of so many people. Next we proceeded to the zip lines (they DID load a group of people including us on the back of a truck bed with benches and drove us to the top. There was a great view of the cruise harbor from there. There were 16 zip lines and 3 swinging bridges on which we had an absolute blast. The zip line staff was phenomenal. When we came down we were guided to the onsite restaurant and encouraged to try the iguana. We are foodies and always down to try new stuff so we ordered two plates. When it arrived I swear they had taken the iguana, skin and all, chopped the heads off, gutted them (maybe) chopped the whole thing up and thrown them in the cooking pot with some seasoning, We were picking out tiny bones from every bite and peeling off skin. We were charged $50 for 2 plates and 2 sodas. My opinion, if you want to try it, order one plate for everyone to sample then get something else. This is receiving a 4 star review because of how great the zip lines were. If it was solely based on the monkeys and sloths exhibit, it would be more like 2 stars. If that’s what you are going for, there’s apparently a nicer and much cleaner sloth/monkey exhibit outside of town that you actually drive to.
Loved zip lining! 16 lines, great guides, so much fun. All of the guys working the lines were great. They were so helpful making sure we landed safe and got back on our feet. I’m a bigger girl with bad knees but I was not made to feel limited in any way. I 100% recommend this excursion and will do it again the next time we are in Roatan. The animal park was still reacquiring animals so it was a bit small. We loved the macaws, monkeys, and especially the sloths.
My wife and I did this trip back in November and it was excellent. Going on Spring Break with a family of 7 in the pouring rain was a different experience. We still made memories and had fun, but the crowd was crazy and weather was a bummer. The zip line did their best to accommodate the overwhelming crowd. Borry, our guide with Webster Tours, took care of us well and got us a spot on the zip line. Animal park is fun if you like animals. The monkeys and macaws are a blast. Would definitely recommend this if you visit Roatan. Get there early!
Great tour, we emailed directly and we planned zip lining and atv and sloth for a great price. Very informative along the drive highly recommend you have something set up before you get there it can be overwhelming getting off the boat with everyone trying to get you to book with them. They have detailed directions and we meet the on the street with the van running and ready to go.
I was grateful that we had a guide , walking us from the cruise port to the zip line and animal area and then escorting us back. The cruise port area had a bunch of pushy activity sales people. It’s really took away from the experience in Port. The zip lines were fun, but the safety aspect was definitely questionable - it was good enough, though for me to trust our family of four to have a good time. The zoo was kind of sad though and overcrowded, neat seeing sloths and monkeys but not a great habitat at all. We are glad we did it, but wouldn’t do it again.
My family started off with our tour guide Borry. On the way to the park, I got to listen to how he was happy he got an American group because we tip well. He continued to talk about getting tipped for the majority of the trip. Once we arrived to the zipline/sloth park we were prepped with harnesses for the zipline. The zipline was very fun and I did feel I got my moneys worth on that portion. The zipline was dependant on the staff hand stopping us at each station with only having a block on the line at 1 station. It definitely made for an interesting time. The zipline was much bigger than I thought and lasted quite a while. Once again, I got to hear half the zipline ride how we should tip the workers, over and over. Now onto the Sloth park. The Sloths were in poor shape. Multiple groups were crammed into a caged area to take pictures. There were no rules that were followed in the cages. You want to touch the sloths? No problem, you want to have the guide move its head aggressively for a perfect photo? Also no problem. Even my 11 year old son turned and told me he felt bad for the monkeys in the park. Thisbpark generally made everyone in my 8 person group sad. If you love animals this is not the park to go to. The overall trip gets a 3 star due to the zipline actually being fun. I should have just done the zipline.
The zip line here was great!!! My kids are 10, 8 and 7 and they absolutely loved it! We ate at the place on sight and the food was yummy! Borry was our guide and he was very helpful! This excursion is a short walk out of the port.
What a fantastic experience. The zip wires were so much fun and the guides were so helpful and reassuring. Highly recommend to anyone. A great day!!!!
Staff was excellent getting us from station to station. Very friendly. Not a lot of walking involved. The suspended bridges took a bit to get used too! We had a blast!
