Bananorama Beach Club

Great fun excursion and overall experience was fantastic. There were 8 of us. We did chocolate tasting, rum tasting and Bananorama Beach Club. Enjoyed the music and beach. Some went snorkeling. Russell was our driver guide and we enjoyed him. Fyi, Local Water taxi tried to charge $50 rt for 3 people to wait for us, which I didn't ask for or want. Said no thanks and charged $20 1 way. We get off the boat and says he'll wait for us anyway and then you see everyone else is charging $5/pp.

Mr. Leonard is the BEST!!

Everyone involved with this tour was very nice and welcoming. Mr. Leonard was the driver and never once was I concerned about being picked up on time or anything else. The snorkeling portion was amazing! The waters were crystal clear and I saw lots of gorgeous fish and a White Sea snake / eel. I highly recommend this tour and would gladly book again with this tour operator. Thank you for a wonderful excursion!

Our guide saved the trip, overall experience was good though.

Monique was a life saver. It was extremely beneficial to have her as our local guide. She was very kind, knowledgeable and really helped us to navigate through the area safely and comfortably. She helped us to get a boat to go and snorkel, that was a very fun experience! The beach itself was fine, lots of people trying to sell stuff, but overall was a good time. The only thing I didn't like was having to leave the port area to get to our guide, it was kind of confusing and had to deal with a lot of strangers looking to give tours or rides to areas in a very chaotic fashion.

Beware - Bait & Switch

I hate that I have to write a poor review, as I know the importance of tourism and positive reviews for these businesses to make enough revenue to survive in these countries. Although the Anderson Tour employees were very friendly; we were intentionally deceived, and that’s just not acceptable. I DO NOT recommend Anderson Tours. We booked the "Bananarama Private Beach Resort Day Pass & Snorkel." Bus driver Leonard arrived 35 minutes late. Then we were brought straight to Fosters West Bay Beach / Caribbean Flavor Restaurant; which was a run down "beach club" with insanely expensive prices. Although this wasn’t the beach club we booked, I decided to give it a chance and explore. Nope. Fosters West Bay Beach was less than desirable, so I took a walk on the beach to check out Bananarama, which was much, much cleaner and organized with very fair pricing for food and drinks; everything I spent time researching before booking with Anderson Tours. So, I walked back to Fosters all the way at the end of the beach to gather our group and move to Bananarama. This is when I asked our guide why we weren't brought to Bananarama initially, per our reservation. He made excuses about not having enough chairs, the road being closed so he couldn't have dropped us off there, etc. I asked why they didn't inform us of this change, because I would have cancelled the excursion. I also asked how all the other guests were able to get to Bananarama, to which he had no answer. (Nearby resorts allow drop off and pick up during construction). Unfortunately, he decided to bring us to Fosters so his friend could be our server all day. Leonard kept giving me the run-around, but realized I wasn’t going for it. I informed Leonard that there were chairs available at Bananarama, since I had just walked down the beach and spoke to the employees. He reluctantly walked with us to Bananarama and amazingly found us all chairs. That took up another hour of our day, so here we are 1.5 hours behind schedule for a 4 hour excursion. Then I ran into 3 people from our ship that booked the same exact tour and timeslot - they were brought straight to Bananarama on another bus. So, I guess Anderson Tours runs a hit or miss business, just not consistent. We made the best of the remaining 1hour 45 minutes at Bananarama, (needed 45 minutes to drive back to port). I will say, The Thirsty Turtle at Bananarama was great; guests were fun, servers and bartenders excellent. Food was amazing – try the coconut shrimp – they are GIANT! The beach was well maintained and the seating in the restaurant was plentiful. $10 burgers were amazing, glad we didn't pay $22 at the first location. Unreal. I was very disappointed in Anderson Tours – never again.

Not what was expected

Our tour guide was awesome but way too busy… we had to wait for other in the van for an hour that didn’t show up then we were so rushed we didn’t get to stop along the way to shop or to see sloths. We got dropped at the beach for almost an hour the gt to snorkel for 30 minutes then straight back to port. It wasn’t the whole experience we expected at all. Lenard was great but our experience was very rushed.

Operator response

Hi hope all is well and about the wait you guys was a hour early i explain it to you guys you all recognize you were and said it was ok when the other family show up 15 to 20 minutes later you left all together even they was early too but we make you went ahead ether way we try to do our best for everyone to get in and out on time

This was an awesome tour...

This was an awesome tour from start to finish. Our tour guide was Clingsman and he was great! He took us to the Rum and the Chocolate factories, walked us in and stayed with us. After touring and shopping he then took us to the beach and talked about Roatan and answered all of our many questions. He set us in nice chairs and made sure we were comfortable. I wanted to snorkel so he took me to the boat and had the captain place me in a good seat(lol, I was the Queen!) and ask him to make sure I was brought back to the place on the beach my group was seated at. The snorkeling was amazing!!! Over all it was the best day ever and I would recommend it 100%!!!

It was great. A bit...

It was great. A bit pricey due to the fact we didnt snorkel but I couldn’t find a beach pass just for the beach. They were on time for the pick up and drop off and were super responsive and nice! Will definitely book again if i were to come vack

Interesting experience

You have to get off the ship and find your ride in a sea of scary individuals trying to sell you an excursion, then you have to walk 1/2 a mile to a car rental place to get to a car for them to drive you to the beach club, then you have to walk another couple of blocks to the beach club. Once you get there it’s amazing and beautiful but the experience of getting there is a little terrifying. The boat ride to snorkel is another distance from the beach club, just know it’s a LOT of walking bring good shoes. The boat ride was amazing and the snorkeling was best I’ve ever seen. Bridget the driver stayed with us all day to be available should be need her.

Good experience

Jenny was a very kind and friendly person, attentive at all times, as was her partner who took us snorkeling in a respectful and friendly manner.
