The host Lorenzo is an authentic Venetian born with the passion for cooking transmitted by his mother. He spent a lifetime working in the kitchen of various restaurants and now he has the pleasure of introducing his culinary culture to his curious guests. Every day he goes to the central market of Rialto to choose the best fish and the freshest vegetables and then offer them to his guests. The cuisine he follows is the one of his family and therefore traditional: the pasta must be homemade!

Lorenzo was a great chef and host ..he walked us thru the fish and produce market ..after deciding our menu we walked to his kitchen for a fabulous meal and experience !
So fun! This was the second time doing. Laid back, enjoyable experience! Yummy food! My teenage son and I had a blast!
Chef Lorenzo showed our group of 6 around the food market, asked us what we’d like to prepare, then purchased the ingredients- artichokes, sea bass, shrimp, mushrooms. We walked to his apartment, totally set up for hands-on instruction. Chef Lorenzo taught us how to make focaccia and pasta from scratch. We also prepared sautéed shrimp, baked sea bass, traditional artichoke hearts and my favorite - mushroom raviolis with a herb butter sauce. All dishes were delicious and I learned a lot.
What a great way to learn about local cuisine. Chef was full of energy, patience and amazing from beginning to end. The tour or the local market was a great start. Highly recommend this experience.
